Just for the record, I'd like it very much if during this show Evan would come out onstage and do "Lamb of God" with Manson as an encore, considering the date. Or maybe "Working Class Hero." (Or both.)

While we're at it, maybe she could do another "karaoke" performance of "Lunchbox!!" Or half of it, anyway.

Hopefully, Ms. Wood could at least come out and sing the "Happiness is a Warm Gun" intros.

;)

Amazing show! My first Manson show and it did not dissapoint! We had some protestors outside the venue, who really weren't doing much, just standing there with signs and banners. Getting into the venue was a pain in the ass, the place is inside a shopping centre which is huge and there are no signs telling you how to get it, so bit annoying. Turbonegro were great, never hear them before and was pleasantly surprised. Manson was on top form, and the show went off without a hitch. Just simply amazing! And we got told we were better than London, which is always a nice thing to hear :P I think the exact words were "You guys make London looks like a bunch of fucking pussies!" :P Setlist was:

Intro
If I Was Your Vampire
Disposable Teens
mOBSCENE
Tourniquet
Irresponsible Hate Anthem
Are You The Rabbit?
Sweet Dreams/Lunchbox
The Fight Song
Putting Holes In Happiness
Heart-Shaped Glasses
Rock Is Dead
The Dope Show
The Reflecting God
Antichrist Superstar
The Beautiful People

I loved it.... He grabbed my hand to hold himself up whilst shoving the mic in our faces! then he threw someones phone who was behind me into the crowd.... she got it back though....

That christian crowd was funny. Some guy argued with them about where the apostrophe in "Mansons" should be... it should be "Manson's"... I study English Literature and it upsets me... brilliant.

Great show though. Love the big chair! and the Mansinthe on the table with the lady!

The venue was terrible though. Nobody knew where they were going! NOBODY!! everyone we asked was following someone else... then the damn waiting in the wrong line before finding out there is no cloak room! still, once the man came on it was all good!

Yeah i spent about 20 minutes wandering around trying to find the way in, be nice if there were some signs around or something.

Anyone get any videos? I wanted to film Beautiful People, but as soon as i took my camera out i was told to put it away by some security person, touchy venue.

I have taken lots of videos.

Will post soon!

I even got the BIBLE BURNING on video! haha

It was worth the 5 hour wait haha, I touched Manson! OMG *fanboy* And also I got Holliday's plectrum! One of the guards took it from the stage and gave it to me!

That means I have NIN plec, from Feb, and I can make them have plectrum fights *dork*

There was a camera there! I was right against the barrier, as I said, worth waiting 5 hours in the snow.

I did see some guy with a camera (a profesional one) wandering around the stage behind the curtain when it was being set up, wonder if there is gonna be a tour documentary with clips from all the shows.

Yeah I trying to talk to him, but he was foreign, but I did lots of peace signs and middle fingers to the camera when it got SHOVED in front of my face...what a paradox!

I touched Manson's sweaty elbow, it was creepy because I was fluttering my hands telling him to come us, and he sat on the stage and jumped down and just launched himself into us, twas funny...

thought the audience were crappy!

I was right at thefront on the left. and people were holding me down so I couldnt jump! nobody was singing, and few were cheering. It was pretty poor. Nobody really got into demanding they stay for an encore and they were generally very passive.

unless you are in the middle at the front, there is not much action.

Kings of leon, beck, The hives etc. all had livelier audiences. Problem is, a lot of non fans go to see manson due to the spectacle, but annoyingly stand at the front and get annoyed at people who want to enjoy the show and jump and sing to the lyrics!

Hmm. A rather unsatisfying performance yet again from Mr Manson. I can't believe that he returned to what is without a doubt the worst arena in Scotland, then decided to play a rather predictable set interspersed with autopilot conversation and similar if not the same routines as he has been doing for many many years now. The young clueless crowd didn't seem to help much either.

Then again, I did see Led Zeppelin on the 10th, so on reflection anything is going to look bad in comparison.

Manson looked to be ENJOYING the event more than he ever has done. He was also in a far more bouyant mood than usual.

The reason it seems familiar is because you have seen him before. It looked to me like 80% of the crowd at Braehead HADN't seen him, and therefore game them the chance to see it...

He went through the routine of bashing the nutters protesting outside.... but why not? until they stop, why should he stop? its entertaining. The audience laugh....

I would agree that the crowd were quiter than expected, although still gave a good account of themselves considering most didnt know his songs, but this has more to do with his drawing power than anything else. He is now beginning to attract a wider audience of people who are interested in the artistic nature of the concerts despite not being "heavily" influenced by his music.

As long as his original fanbase are losing interest, he needs to make his concert as newbie friendly as possible... sad to say, but it seems to be the truth.

My god TurboNegro were terrible... so bad it was funny

FluffyPants
12-12-2007, 01:15 PM
I didn't like Turbowhatever at all, they were abunch of idots.

Alot of the people did seem to be there just for the sake of seeing manson, i don't think many were fans to be honest. The crowd was half and half. It's the 4th time ive seen manson and there was people around me who were not getting into it, or enjoying it at all, I was one of the few who was singing all the songs and not just HSG .... people see gigs now as a chance to get pissed and make arse's of themselves.

Though Manson did put on a great performance and he looked like he was having a great time himself, even at some points he did seem to be a little frustrated with the crowd's reaction to him/certain songs.

I thought Turbonegro were alright, not something i'd go buy but for a support band they were good (i've seen worse). Manson put on a great show! I hadn't seen him before so don't have anything else to compare it to, but it was good enough for me! I do agree that Breahead isn't that great a venue, well, it is alright when you get inside but actually getting to it and getting in is what brings it down. The SECC would have been the more obvious, easier choice i suppose.

Ubermensch
12-12-2007, 04:40 PM
To be fair, Turbonegro are a joke... I mean they know it... and they play to it... they will never be more than a support act and they know it..

Braeheads biggest positive is that very few people were actually drunk compared to most concerts... good or bad? not sure...

At the start of Fight song, I think he was trying to get the audience to shout FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT... seemed to take 3 goes. I did it from the start, defying his signal to start and he definately had a look at the asshole shouting fight before he said so, but he must have liked it cause he grabbed me later on whilst holding himself up and think i noticed a smile... then again, it could have been my Bowie tshirt.

Again though, nobody around me was singing... I was the only one singing every single song.... and I was the only one not dressed in black. Jeans and a light brown bowie tshirt is not a very mansony look, but I was the only one getting into it. they were too busy trying to stop me from jumping to the music cause I was too extreme!

Braeheads

That's funny, I saw them at Lowlands Festival (60.000 tickets sold) and they played the shit out of one of the main stages. I think the tent was almost as full as it was for NIN, who played on that same stage.
