Me and my husband are going too. This is my third and his fourth Manson concert. My husband was lucky enough to attend the first concert in the Pavilhăo Atlântico (1998?), I only got to go to the concerts that took place in multi-band festivals. I've been waiting for years for Manson to come back in his own concert and he FINALLY does it, it is with this *sigh* album. I don’t like this album (nicest way to express my feelings) but hey, I’ve got faith and I am loyal, tough currently quite disappointed fan. Watching Manson’s live performance at MTV Brasil only made me more scared on what to expect of this concert.
And on something much less tragic…. I haven’t made up my mind if I will wear my Pearl or Phant t-shirt…mmmm. Any who, is there a meeting point for Phants on concert night?
Shit I miss coming to the Phant but I had to cut this terribly addictive habit. Long story. Quite boring too.

Most of the Phants who confirmed going to the concert in this thread also participate in a smaller portuguese forum (http://www.mansonpt.com/forum) which is organizing a meeting at Pav. Atlântico.
And on a sidenote, Norsefire, please update j_abs' post to include every Phant whos already confirmed, 'cause there's at least three or four more people to add. :)

^ Be prepared to see Pal Pomparius on rythym guitar, Rune Rebellion left the band as of October 19th :/. He's still going to be very involved with the band via their label, but as far as performing he's officially out of the band. Pal isn't that bad on the guitar, and with both of his hands busy it keeps him from doing those incredibly awkward point-at-you-then-stick-his-finger-in-his-mouth deals that he was notorius for while behind the keyboard. ;)

Haha, never seen that, i fucking love this band.
Yeah too bad about Rune, hopefully performance wise it wont change that much.
Do you know if they are doing something special stagewise on this tour?
Like on the party animals tour in 2005 for example they had a cannon that shot money out of it, atleast at the show i went to.
Also, do you know how the setlist looks like ?
Peg-Legged Greg
11-18-2007, 02:27 AM
Not a whole lot as far as stage antics unfortunately, but the show is kick-ass nonetheless! I saw Pal on rythym guitar at the show I was at b/c Rune had to go home for personal reasons so I've got a small idea as to what to expect. Look for Turbonegro to play a safe set consisting of the staple songs throughout their career. The Atlanta setlist was as follows (in no particular order):
We're Gonna Drop the Atom Bomb
Do You Dig Destruction?
Everybody Loves a Chubby Dude
Denim Demon
Selfdestructobust
Get It On
Fuck the World
All My Friends Are Dead
Age of Pamparius
Bad Mongo
Back To Dungaree High
I Got Erection
Turbonegro Must Be Destroyed
Sell Your Body To The Night
Ride With Us
Blow Me (Like The Wind)
City of Satan
Wasted Again
Final Warning
Only 3 songs from the new album, but the rest is classic! I think everyone going to this show will be thoroughly impressed with 'Negro and their show, if for the Final Warning and I Got Erection alone! Please record this set, PLEEEEASE!!!!!

Oooo can someone get a clean translation of that, I got this from google,
Marilyn Manson, musician, returns tomorrow to the Atlantic Pavilion for a concert that promises to pay tribute to Sintra, one of the most beautiful places far have already visited. In interview with CM, who has been nicknamed 'Antichrist' recognizes that no longer shocked no one, and that, after all, until it is a romantic.
Morning Post-How will the spectacle of tomorrow in Lisbon?
Marilyn Manson - I put new ideas into practice and there is room for the unexpected. It has the same tables but it is a very visual spectacle, too. In Lisbon, fans will be entitled to a special tribute. I am projecting images that filmei some years ago in Sintra. It was more of the sites where they have been fantastic. It has so much history, mystery. Inspired me! It was there that I had the idea to make a film about Lewis Carroll.
- Keeps the idea of filming 'Phantamasgoria' in Portugal?
- Unfortunately not. It will be filmed in Eastern Europe, there to March
- This tour can leave on DVD?
- Yes Moreover, some cameras will go in the middle of the crowd ... If fans want to contribute, are the will!
- 'Eat Me, Drink Me' is the album where less talk about politics and religion. No longer is worth?
- Exactly. We live in a time when nothing has shocked people. Having done songs criticism was important as writer and artist, but now the world has more important things to deal with. I can not compete with certain realities. Many have said that 'Marilyn Manson has not shocked anybody,' but I think the most shocking thing that could have made this disc was, 'Me Eat, Drink Me'. Because I speak for myself, of love, of my feelings. Someone could predict that? And I thought to do so. There was a period of doubt before this disc, because neither I did understand that paper had in the world.
- Have you ever thought quit?
- Yes, and for several reasons. Not only lost the sense of music, but of life. My personal reality also was estilhaçar themselves. My marriage became -- if something against which fought a lifetime. A lifestyle of 'red zebra crossing' that always detestei. By doing 'Me Eat, Drink Me' realized that it was unable to separate my personal life from the artistic ...
- How to overcome it?
- Paint, making movies and finally returning to music. As more myself and giving me the knowledge to the world that way. I was very transparent and humane in this disc, which is a testimony of my vulnerability. After all, I am equal to anyone. Shows that my weakness is the heart. Hence the metaphor of the vampire, love as it more romantic and dramatic.
- Now that reencontrou love, it is to be based or to the father?
- It has always been a possibility. I will not change what I am because of a relationship, but a child can happen. Of course it is a great responsibility. But I think to have that space in my life.
"SENTI-ME ONE PRODUCT"
CM-Marilyn Manson is today is also a mark, a label that does sell. How feels that skin?
MM - Also so I thought up. The industry made me feel a product because I always wanted more famous, more commercial, more media, in ways that had not anything to do me. This industry is a treta, but also is changing and that gives me hope! The artists will have more freedom. We have audited the best things that disk and I still think I will do better in the future.
"ACT NEAR ESPIRITUAL"
CM-'Me Eat, Drink Me' is a ritual of the Christian liturgy. It is not a contradiction for someone nicknamed 'Antichrist'?
MM The ambivalence exists in all of us. The metaphor is related to the character of the vampire. As a kid and went to Mass, always thought that there was something canibalesco that image of drinking the blood of Christ and you eat the body. 'Consume' someone was always an act almost spiritual. It was also that the idea of writing of Lewis Carroll.

Hey Norsy, your googlish translation is quite understandable, but here we go:
Newspaper: What can we expect from the tomorrow show?
MM: I get some new ideas in practice and you can count with something unexpected, but it's still quite "visual". In Lisbon, the fans will be awarded with a special tribute. I will project a couple of videos which were filmed by me when I was in Sintra (Portuguese city) some years ago. It's a place so full of history, mystery...it really inspired me. It was there, that the idea to direct a movie about Lewis Caroll, came across my mind.
Newspaper: Are you still planning to do some "takes" here in Portugal?
MM: Unfortunately, no. It will be filmed in east europe, in March.
Newspaper: Could these tour make its away into a DVD?
MM: Yes. By the way, there are going to be some cameras among the crowd...if some of the fans want to give their contribution, go ahead.
And this is the juicy part of the interview. Next they will talk about emdm, religion and such.

well, at a radio interview with journalist António Freitas, from Antena 3, Manson said that "there'll be a few surprises, a lot of old songs, a lot of new songs, and i think we are at a point now in the tour where we like to keep changing up things so we'll hopefully play something that people haven't heard live before, i'm sure there are at least one or two songs they haven't heard live ever".

With Manson, you have to go by the "believe it when you see it" motto. I remember him talking about The Red Carpet Grave being played on the tour with Slayer. At this point, I don't see Manson playing a song they have never played before. But, I have been wrong before.

Why not "at this point," if you don't mind me asking?
They've had two decent-sized breaks from touring recently and they actually have soundchecks now (unlike during the Slayer stint)...this would seem to be a very logical point at which to introduce new material.

I'm so looking forward to the concert tomorrow, especially after listening to Freitas' interview with Manson earlier today in which he said we can expect some surprises for this show. He also mentioned this will be a "proper show", which they "haven't yet been able to give this tour", all theatrical and visual.
Let's see if he keeps his promise, I seriously hope so! Me and a couple of people from the portuguese fan-forum I mentioned above have also painted a banner saying "this is where it starts" with the heart used as this era's symbol, which we plan to hang in the front of the moshpit that hopefully Manson and the filming crew will notice. When I say "at this point", I mean career-wise I don't them playing a song they have never played live before. Unless its a new song like The Red Carpet Grave. Manson mentioned there is a few songs that they have never played live, to my knowledge those songs are:
Wormboy
New Model No. 15
Fundamentally Loathsome
Target Audience
A Place In The Dirt
Lamb Of God
Coma Black
The Fall Of Adam
Kill Kill 33°
Ka-boom Ka-boom
Spade
Slutgarden
The Bright Young Things
Vodevil
The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell
Then, counting new songs:
The Red Carpet Grave
They Said That Hell's Not Hot
Evidence
Mutilation Is The Most Sincere Form Of Flattery
I am sure I have missed some or messed up somewhere in there, but off memory those are the songs never played live. Personally, I don't see Manson and co playing any old song like that. I would loved to be proved wrong and would be super jealous too. By all means, taunt and boo me if Manson proves me wrong.
:-p
Even after saying that....I am excited to see how this show goes!!

I don't trust Manson anymore regarding setlists after the Red Carpet Grave interview. I say that the "new" or "never played before" songs will probably be either "The Love Song" or "The Nobodies" plus maybe something new from EMDM.
Manson also said there would be many songs from MA on this tour, remember. ¬¬

By the way, is this uber-shitty or what: MONTHS of blue sky and sunny weather and today winter decides to arrive, its pouring out there. And it seems it will get even worse throughout the day. In fact civil protection and weather services were broadcasting warnings about the storm that hit the islands yesterday arriving today evening at the continent, heavy rain and surges of cyclonic winds can you believe this shit? On the plus side, the Vasco da Gama mall will look like a graveyard with people that will be going to the concert, I think that store employees must be putting crucifixes at the shop doors by now.

Hey everyone. Just eared sad although not surprising news. I’ve got a friend that works for a company that does most stages, he is a rock climber that earns his life in a company that hangs decorations in malls, show stages and stuff like that. He does most of rocks festivals and all Atlantic Pavilion shows and was asking me if I want to go in earlier to see the sound check/rehearsal (if there will be one, it was not schedule until know). He then told me that they had to assembly the stage more or less in the middle of the pavilion because there are only 2000 tickets sold until now. They are expecting a very very weak frequency for the concert. I’m very sad but as I said, not surprised, If I didn’t love the man as I do for all his work as a whole, on the basis of this album alone I would never set foot in this concert tonight.

True, but Kerry King is a bad influence.

Why all the complaining? I do it sometimes. So do you. I think we're just spoiled, being mansonfans. Manson is nothing but great. He could change the setlist, hold hypnotic speeches again and get on stage sober. He could train his voice and he could work on his looks and he could allso play longer shows.
But on the other hand he could have quit music. Or more relevant, be one of the other random rock' n rollers with no energy or soul (as in: allmost everybody else in todays music scene). He could also not know how to sing at all when it comes to liveshows. He could have no stagepresence. He could be taking his art not serious at all. He could be stupid. And he could even have no good songs.
We have a full package (image, show, musicvidios, a huge personality for interviews, a book and we have both music and paintings and soon films too. We even have an absinth brand. And t- shirts, of course) that we should be happy about and we should stop complaining about everything. We eat and drink of Marilyn Manson till there is nothing left, then we get angry and upset because of it.

I just came back from the show. It was really nice, although everyone was expecting more of the show after the interview Manson gave to portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhă. It was a regular setlist, with nothing new except the reinclusion of Are You The Rabbit - with the chair we've seen before in this tour. There was also the arena thing on The Fight Song with Manson wearing the white robe, and the platform from the GGG tour was used on a different song, during Reflecting God I think.
IMO the crowd responded really well to the show, in fact there was some pretty violent moshing during AYTR and the Fight Song. Manson let us sing lots of times, as everyone was chanting the lyrics to each song. He seemed to really like the crowds reaction as he was constantly throwing kisses and smiling, and by the way, Skold seemed a lot happier too. At a point he also grabbed a portuguese flag from the crowd and threw it back after holding it for awhile. :D Some girl got the HS Glasses during the song too, she was right in front of Manson on a guy's shoulders.
All in all I really liked the show, but as I said earlier, at the end people were expecting a longer show so you could see some disappointed faces. I hope my banner was caught on the camera they (people from Manson) were pointing to the crowd, mostly at the beginning because at a point a bouncer ripped it off the barrier at the front and threw it to the ground, and there it stood until the end of the concert. Dickhead..
Anyway, I'm not gonna tell you the setlist because, honestly, im too tired to remember the order correctly, but as I said, there was nothing new. Off to bed now...

I am in no way complaining, with all that Marilyn has been through since HolyWood,I think we are lucky to have him touring at all now and have this new album. He has said twice that he wasn't into making music,he wasn't feeling inspired by the world,he had personal problems....and then out of nowhere we got an album and a tour.Marilyn is older now and has been through alot but he's still out there trying to entertain and remain true to himself and us fans.Yes,everyone has a list of songs that we would LOVE to hear but let's let him pull his own punches and run the show.
I think after this tour and all this LOVE talk and drama,Marilyn is going to come back in full on anger and rage............mainly because of all of the year round complaints by his fans.

I could care less about new songs, that's my only problem. I remember when the man would do long, long sets. He could play Sweet Dreams three times in a row, aslong as he plays longer. Yes, I poke fun at the supposed set variation we were promised oh so long ago, but in the end, I could give about two shits and a fuck more about new songs. I think the man could play longer than he does now.
But, Red Carpet Grave would be pretty fucking cool live. ;)

I second this motion. In all honesty, I as well would like to hear a genuine response as to why he continues to employ a setlist that is damn near comprised entirely of singles. Look, they're great songs, and he puts on a great show with a great band, but part of the mystique of Marilyn Manson is not knowing what's going to happen next. When you can predict the setlist down to the exact slot a song will have with almost 100 percent accuracy every time, that's a little weird, considering the level of musicianship possessed by current(and past) bandmembers. To me, it's as simple as giving your fans and especially your art the benefit of the doubt. We'll appreciate it.

I dont really know whats up with manson. Im not bitching or nothing but what was stated earlier maybe he just wants this tour to end and beging on new projects or start a new era. '' Hopes''
But why not atleast trade the obvious songs that were singles in place for other songs.
I dont like the drugs instead of rock is dead
This is the new shit instead of mobscene
the death song instead of disposable teens
burning flag instead of the fight song. . .
Or why not red carpet grave or user friendly.. both fit the era.
Anyways were not asking for new songs that have never been played before. but the same singles for the last few tours.. Atleast give them a rest.

I don't remember him playing Just a car crash away and he also played the Irresponsible hate anthem and tourniquet so this makes (order might not be that, and again yes because I copied part of this from the Moscow thread).
1. "If I Was Your Vampire"
2. "Disposable Teens"
3. "mOBSCENE"
4. "Tourniquet"
5. "Irresponsible Hate Anthem"
6. "Are You The Rabbit?"
7. "Sweet Dreams" / "Lunchbox" (Medley)
8. "The Fight Song"
9. "Putting Holes in Happiness"
10. "Heart-Shaped Glasses (When the Heart Guides the Hand)"
11. "The Dope Show"
12. "Rock Is Dead"
13. "The Reflecting God"
14- "Antichrist Superstar"
15. "The Beautiful People"
I enjoyed the show very very much; my most pleasant surprise was that Manson was sounding fine and mostly tuned, of course he keeps using the low tones during a significant part of most musics but he generally sounded very good. There were no Sintra footage or cameras on the public of course(that I noticed them), there was a lot of love in that room, flag snuggling and kisses to the audience as someone said. I’m not going on details of stage effects and production because according to Tragamin which has been following the tour descriptions there were no surprises so I’ll wait for his input.
Skold was wasted or so it seemed because he was tumbling when he left stage; he kept delaying his solos here and there and during the hate anthem they totally lost time among them, they corrected it rapidly, still it chilled me. There are some wobbly interesting effects I don’t remember if was in the Reflecting God or ACSS…I Know me and hubby noticed it and tried to comment something in the middle of the chaos, he’s probably doing it some time. I’ll try to confirm where it was. While being descended on the platform during Reflecting God Manson also entered too late during the final slow phase ( I went to god just to see / and I was looking at me...), not out of time just too late and then he stop for a split of a second to make sure he was on time and kept going. Oh and he kept fighting with the hood of his lovely white silk kimono during the arena staging of fight song, I laughed my ass off, too cute (he kept remembering my 1-year old when I take her of the bath and she throws a fit at the hooded towel). Putting holes had an outfit that remembered me his look when he use to sing The Speed of Pain in the Omega Era.
There was a horrible echo during the show and the sound where I was very distorted; this concert hall is very tough (it’s a giant beetle-shaped room) to do sound and they are bringing their one sound production, there are local companies that are used to dealing with the difficulties of the room that moreover was very empty; I confirm the stage was put in the 1/3 front or the room or something to compensate for the lack of audience. That huge empty hole behind the stage also must have contributed to enhance the echo effect.
I am a wreck, I do rough exercise very regularly but I am aking all over and I sound like Mutley the dog from all the singing and screaming throughout the concert. I am happy. Shit I even liked hearing the new songs. Confettiiiiiiiis!!!

The setlist was exactly as listed above, yesterday I forgot to mention Tourniquet and Irresponsible Hate Anthem.
I don't think there's much to add to my short review, there weren't any new stage props that I could notice. The only things that caught my attention, although I'm not sure they have been present in past concerts too were projections of a self-drawing heart during HSG, a pill with the cross of lorraine on one side and "eat me" on the other during Dope Show, and some images of a room lit with candles while playing Putting Holes in Happiness.
The sound, back there, was in fact really shitty as the people from Pav. Atlântico removed a lot of sound props when they shortened the usable area the day before the concert - due to the low attendance. That really fucked up the sound and I was told from people that were there that the guy from MM's crew who was at the sound table in the back was completely clueless at some point. It took them a while to correct the mess and only during the last third of the concert or so were the people back there able to hear the show reasonably well.
Here are some of the pictures released today in the portuguese press:
Some more photos (from Antena3) (http://www.antena3.pt/index.php?article=4951&visual=1)
It seems my banner was still there during Disposable Teens, you can get a glimpse of it on one of the photos.
Sorry to hear that about your banner, but thank you for the review! At least you got to see some of the stage effects, eh? What was Turbonegro's set like? Any fans of theirs in attendance, in their Kutte's and all?
Well, you could see most people were there for Manson, but I was surprised by the number of people singing along with Hank Von Helvete. At a point it seemed a mob of Turbonegro's fans got to be right in front of the stage and you could really guess many of those people were there just for them. No Kuttes though ;D
Unfortunately, the sound was not at its best as well - in fact it was worse than Manson's, with the portuguese press comparing the sound of "All My Friends Are Dead" and "The Age of Pamparius" to a giant drying machine.

Here are the first few videos we (at the portuguese community forum) managed to find from yesterday's show. I will edit this post with new ones as soon as I find them.
Most of them are kinda bad quality as you can see, but there's one from The Beautiful People with good video and sound. You can see some things I forgot to mention in my review, such as the lights being turned off except for a flashlight Manson was holding pointed to the crowd just before The Beautiful People, and the background projection during The Fight Song. The platform on Reflecting God looked awesome and seemed much closer to the front of the stage than before.

Hello there
ok so this was in fact a hell of a better show than the 2005 one. About the lower number of people in the audience, i think that the Monday effect didn't help much, but even then there was a lot of chemistry, i had a hell of a good time over there!
Performance wise, the band was great and one could see they were also having a good time. I was very surprised with the power of If i was your vampire and HSG live. The crowd was amazing, always singing along, jumping and interacting. Manson seems to have re-gained a focus and it will be difficult to stop him now.
The banner thing was great, a shame that that idiot removed it by it survived at least two songs and i think the band noticed it. I was a bit disappointed to see that there were no setlist changes after all whatsoever (what is going on, why the hell are the fans always getting the same songs concert after concert? its realy a shame because i'm sure even the band members would love trying out different things; don't get me wrong, i love those songs, i just feel that there are so many unused good things... and even for Manson himself would be more exciting i guess to change) , not counting with the return of Are You The Rabbit (by the way, this one also surprised me live, it's not one of my favourites but the giant chair and all the theatrics just place it on a higher level). And the lack of JACCA was also a miss.
The was an absolute chaos during some songs. Disposable teens, Mobscene, Hate Anthem and the beautiful people, just to name a few, were devoured by the crowd. Overall, the response was fantastic.
Despite some mistakes on playing the performance was dedicated and an interesting visual carrosel. There were several costume changes, there were the candles, the amazing confeti rain, the chair, the podium on ACSS, the boxing parafernalia, the higher platform of reflecting god, the hsg. Different from the ACSS, MA and GGG tours but hey it had to be. Difference is a bliss. Loved it and really looking forward to the new chapter.

hYdrAAppLe I was reading your post and still savouring my memories from yesterday night. I pretty much agree with you on how surprising well the new songs worked live. To me they fall in two groups:
Pleasant surprise: Putting Holes and Heart Shaped Glasses. I basically can’t stand those hair-band-style solos+opening in Putting Holes and the whole pace of the thing, not enough pop nor rock brrrr, creeps me. I always wondered how in hell would he find a way to merge that music on himself, his walk, his pose…well it went quite well. The trick of the trench leather coat and hat borrowed it a more glam (a la Mechanicak animals) touch making it more defined, on my eyes of course.
The Glasses has an admittedly more pop tone, with a touch of glam and Brit (does anyone ears Duran Duran on that??). I always could much more easily imagine MM “wearing” that music on stage. It’s terribly catchy that music, by the way. A pop pearl so to say which, contrarilly to my expectations actually made me get of my feet and with it almost made me waste a scheduled joint (I was counting on having them during the new album songs).
Those I thought have-to-go-perfect-but-you-never-know:
Let me first say that Vampire is THE music my heart goes to in this album, although I cannot help looking at it as a promise of what could have been…it just kind of worried me that it would sound dragged. Fortunately it didn’t at all. It worked all its majesty and brought to the opening of the show a solemnity that would make you think a black mass was going to commence. Worked even more wonderfully with him starting to sing behind the stage curtain...then along came the candles, the projected clock, very well done.
I like the Rabbit very much; contrarily to Putting Holes has a very erotic pace and Manson’s face all over it. I just feared for the man’s heath in that chair...I actually think he was concentrating very very hard to not fall from that chair.
I could be here all night. I think I am beginning to accept that I, we, will never see things as they were and unless anything strange comes along, more and more we’ll have single-based set lists. The madness and unpredictability of the 90 will never come back. Also important to me is to look at him and see him loving being there. So as long as we are loving it and he is loving it too I’ll still buy albums concerts tickets and by the way, a great t-shirt of the tour :)
I don’t know if you had that impression but I think the songs he actually most tripped or, better yet, felt the words he was saying were actually the 4 new ones… I might be biased because a) the sound was particularly poor were I was (mid-left) b) these were the only songs during which I rested a bit c) I didn’t took my glasses so I could not complement my perception of the sound with the observation of his facial expressions.

As I previously said I had the clear perception something went very wrong in the middle of Hate Anthem (totally confusion of rhythm between instruments) and I could swear Skold fucked that one up too; however somebody was saying (I think at the PT forum) that the keyboards ruined hate anthem, I would like to hear it again or perhaps have a more educated opinion than mine.

I also noticed that Skold was doing an horrible effect during Reflecting God.
I hope my middle finger caught his attention on that one.

I think that's the “wobbly” effect I mentioned previously, I wasn’t sure of the music…I think you got it right and it is actually perceptible in one of the posted videos. Thanks Herr

Are You The Rabbit (good quality)

by the way, i think it will happen again. when i first heard kaboom kaboom i didn't play that much of attention but the song grew on me to a point where it escaped my control and became one of the highlights of Golden Age of Grotesque. I think the same is happening with Are You The Rabbit. In this case, this amazing theatrical performance is contributing A LOT to the fact.
HSG (good quality)

hYdrAAppLe I was reading your post and still savouring my memories from yesterday night.
About the new songs, as i said, generaly i was surprised by their live magnitude. Starting with If I Was Your Vampire is simply perfect. When i first heard the song my mind traveled to a lot of places, including "A Place in the dirt", only because of the drastic change we face when the chorus begins. I always loved that balance in A Place In The Dirt and i love it on If i was your vampire too. I can now easely understand why did Manson had that glimpse when he wrote the song. It was obvious that Vampire should open the shows, and the album. The audience response was powerfull, much more that i could expect and all the little elements (the candles, the red ligths, the smoke, the huge beautiful moon and the clock...) transformed an expectation into an explosion (one has to love this song on cd and mostly live or else they're already dead. And what to say about the marvelous Schubert intro... my god... just perfect!
I can see where you're coming from on Putting Holes. Is mixes different sentiments and textures and it's normal to be confused. I like the song very much and that solo is just blast. Agree with you on the glam reference, that jacket and hat completed the package and mostly, helped defining it maybe. Manson was really into it.
HSG was a bigger surprise then Vampire because the expectation was lower. Everyone beside me was just jumping singing and smiling. There was this guy behind me with huge red glasses, Manson put his on too and the song sounded way more powerfull live. This is one of those poppy effects that you just can't ignore, it warms you and makes you smile and sing, it liberates you. It's a fact that Manson enjoyed playing the new ones, but he seemed Much more into the old ones then he was on 2005, at least to me. It seems like he had an overall bath, leaving the pain on his back to refocus on what makes him happy. And if i see it onstage, what more can i ask for? Sure, one or two different songs would be great but fuck there was the band that helped me feeling good with myself for so long, the band that made me think about so many important things and that helped me recover from so many bad days... and manson is in great shape! that to say that i felt connected and happy about what i was given. One last word to Skold. He is definitly showing a Personality onstage, i was very pleased.

Get rid of Tim Skold, he´s ruining the songs.
Or atleast get rid of that Firebird.
WTF?!? Sounded great to me...I swear, guitar snobs can be such assholes.
How can you possibly listen to that recording of "Antichrist Superstar" and take issue with the guitarist kicking ass onstage while not making note of the loud, obnoxious asshole "singing" the guitar riffs?

In Houston 2007 Tim skold kept cutting the notes in every song. Nothing Flowed :\. I liked John 5 and Zim Zum a lot better

lol, im no guitarsnob, i know a lot about guitars but that doesnt make me a snob.
Im a bit of sloppy player myself aswell, but atleast i know how to make the songs sound good.
I thought you would hear the difference being an old fan and all ;) & bootlegger.
Tim Skold kicks ass live visually but not on guitar.
So Manson if you read this, pm and we will get something going ;).

C'mon, he's a good player and he makes the songs sound good. Different than the previous guitarrists, but still good.
He's obviously not the best guitar player in the world but he does his job properly.

Intro + If I Was Your Vampire (thanks BrunoMacedo 82), here we can get a proper idea about the power of Vampire as a start at this concert. And the intro... just beautiful And Skold is really really great!
