Any word on wether this is gonna get sold through Ticketmaster or IMP's vendor? (EDIT: It will be ticketmaster, it looks like only 930 uses tickets.com, but it hasn't been listed yet.)

It's not listed on Ticketmaster or Merriweathermusic.com yet, so I wouldn't worry about it.
It looks like the dude I was hoping would give me a ride will be going, so I should be there.

Listen, I'd like very much to go but facts are facts & as much as I like Manson's records, his last one blew & he's nearly 40 years old, he isn't exactly at the height of his powers, he'll probably be going through the motions & not doing too much of anything on stage, I don't know, is it still worth seeing him?

I think he's the best he's been since 03.

Y'know, there are bootlegs of severely badass Against All Gods shows floatin' around out there. (The Korea boot is a killer show, for instance.) That tour gets more flak than it deserves, imho. By the time the band finally came together they were already done here in the States.
Frankly, I think it's a shame it never got a second leg back here...that would've made believers out of those let down by the earlier, domestic AAG shows.
Anyway, whatever. I was just annoyed by the "since '03" part. Although there were some exceedingly rough patches in '04, Manson was kicking ass again well into '05, damnit.

Well, that's a good one, yes...but if I had to pick an example of post-'03 perfection from Rock am Ring '05 I'd go with "The Dope Show." Manson's voice cracks, he fucks up a line, and he does his mush-mouthed warbling thing...but he does it just right, goddamnit. Plus, the light-screen thing looked fucking great.
A09IlHydoR4&mode=related&search=
Their Tokyo '05 show was fuckin' kickin', too. I'll even stand up for Mark Chaussee, damnit. He had some awesome little flourishes he'd throw in here and there, and once he had a chance to settle in he played some great shows.

Okay, so I *might* not be going. I'm picky about the type of tickets I get, and always prefer GA as opposed to seating. Anyway, I won't be able to get my tickets until Monday since I found out today that my bank is closed on Saturdays (WTF?). I have the cash, just not in my account. Argh!
Hopefully there'll be some pit tickets left by then. If not, dependent upon what kinda seats I'll get is whether or not I'll go. :(

Aaaaah FUCK! I tried to get in touch with my probable ride Thursday when I heard about the presale to no luck. I'm out of town all weekend on a whitewater rafting trip and can't do anything. I call him again yesterday and he can't go. Fuck. Tickets are disappearing and I have no ride.
Motherfucker.
Hazekiah
06-12-2007, 07:38 PM
Just do like I do and snatch up that ticket while you can and worry about the rest later!
I got arrested and fired and spent my entire last paycheck on the nine tickets I got...a few weeks after everything went down!
I've got a court date a month from now, a fine which may be as much as $750, and I'm workin' my ass off right now to cover rent (due four days before Eat Me, Drink Me came out...oops).
I've also never owned a car, so gettin' around is gonna be...complicated.
Fuck it, y'know?
The Man can't keep me down, damnit!!!
Seriously, though, good luck...sorry to hear about your trouble.
:(
And really, if you just go ahead and get the damned ticket you've still got a month and a half to figure somethin' out, right? It is expensive, though...argh.

Just got back from the concert. Fucking amazing show. Manson made everyone wait until like 10:10 or 10:15 until he played, , a good hour after Slayer ended, and people started getting restless. This was my first time seeing Manson and the moment that MM curtain dropped and he started singing IIWYV... it was fucking surreal. I'll type up some sort of song run-through of his theatrics maybe in a second if someone hasn't already beat me to it. The one surprise for me was Manson coming out with a boxing robe on during the Fight Song. Overall great show, the crowd seemed energetic enough and most of the people around seemed to know the words as well.
On a side note, my friend got one of Kerry King's guitar picks he threw out into the crowd and I grabbed a shitload of confetti.
Edit: Untitled was before the Love Song, if the Untitled you're referring to is Empty Sounds of Hate.

First off, I have to say that Bleeding Through wasn’t that bad… or at least not as bad as I thought they’d be. Definitely good for an opening band. Slayer was great as well, but towards the end of their set, I just kinda wanted to see Manson.
I was a bit worried that after the long wait, songs were going to be cut from the show, and especially after he played ACSS. I was like “damn, no Beautiful People” but then he came out with the searchlight so all was well.
If I Was Your Vampire – typical run through of the song, nothing to say here really except for it was definitely a good performance.
Disposable Teens – Crowd really seemed to be into and like I said earlier, everyone seemed to be singing along and jumping along.
MOBSCENE – Manson wore a top hat and showed his ass to us. He also made his way over to the right side of the stage finally so that was nice, haha.
Are You the Rabbit? – Giant chair of course, this song is so fucking great live, such a sleazy song.
Sweet Dreams/ Lunchbox – I liked the way they led into Lunchbox but I still really want them to play the full version of Lunchbox eventually.
Just a Car Crash Away – Great performance though I believe Skold did fuck up the solo a bit but no one seemed to care. It was a bit hard to hear as I was right next to the fucking speakers.
Heart-Shaped Glasses – Confetti cannons at the beginning. I wasn’t sure if the confetti during the Beautiful People would be heart-shaped or if they’d even play it so I tried to grab a bunch.
Rock is Dead – Another one the crowd seemed really into but nothing really note-worthy here.
The Dope Show – I know the sample used before this song isn’t new but I still fucking love it. When the line “the drugs, they say, are made right here in…” he put the mic to the crowd and no one seemed to know exactly what to say… Columbia or Maryland or whatever, so I don’t know what the fuck that was about. But whatever.
Putting Holes in Happiness – Manson donned his long leather jacket and hat for this one. My friend says Skold messed up the solo a bit but I didn’t hear it, a great job overall. If someone knows the sample that was used before this, I’d love to know.
The Fight Song – Manson came out dressed in a boxing robe, can’t remember at what point he stripped himself of it. Also, I think it was before this song that Abuse pt. 1 was played but at points the audio gets put into slow motion and reversed, it was pretty sweet.
The Love Song – Empty Sounds of Hate was used before this and Manson was on the raising platform again for this one.
Antichrist Superstar – Fucking fantastic performance but Manson did get behind a line on his lyrics. So the final crowd chant came in before he was actually done singing. I didn’t give a shit though, being down there in the pit. It was just fantastic.
The Beautiful People – I was a bit nervous that ACSS would be the end of the show but Manson came out with the searchlight and shit got kicked into high gear. At one point near the end of the song just before the quiet “the beautiful people, the beautiful people” point Manson threw his mic stand at Ginger’s drums. It was nice to see a bit of that destructive Manson again.
There’s nothing really that new to say except being down there in that pit was just an amazing experience.
I've gotta go thru my pics now to see if there's anything semi-good.
Edit: Forgive any typos or overuses of any words. I don't feel like going back and proof reading right now. Like lordevildemon said, this show was just fucking amazing and I am worn out right now.
lordevilvenom
07-31-2007, 01:45 AM
In response to "Drugs they say...are made in" I said Maryland, then was like fuck uhh Columbia! (In case you guys missed it the banner behind him said Columbia) Also I wondered if that was the actuall ACSS podieum or if there are many of them used for his tours...Regardless it was nice to see the ACSS banners unfold for that.

Yeah, my pics didn't come out so great either. At one point Skold came all the way over to the right side of the stage, so I tried to snap a pic but it didn't come out that well. I'll post few in a second.
Edit: Btw, when Manson came down in front of the crowd during the Beautiful People, the fucking push of people to fucking get a hold of him was insane. I had gotten moved back a bit during the concert but I was still pretty close and when he came towards us, I just fucking heaved forward to try and touch him... but to no avail. :(

Not a bad setlist, but he could get rid of disposible teens and bring back reflecting god. Maybe he did it once and only once to shut up slayer?
When he comes to Oz I hope the fact he's doing it by himself (with special guest) is enough to bring back great big white world, add in reflecting good and maybe extend lunchbox to the full extent.
There are other songs I'd like, but putting holes in happienss and are you the rabbit are pretty freaking sweet, so it's getting better now.
All has to do is introduce a little more set design and costume change. I'm sure those pants are starting to stink by now :P

Very nice, I look forward to re-visiting that shit.
Edit: I ended up buying the tour shirt with the album cover on the front. 35 bux is surely rip-off but still... I wanted that fucking shirt badly.

I didn't go to the show, but a friend did and got these pictures. Thought I'd share.
Just got back from the show. Overall I think it was a good show...
However I think this ranks as one of Manson's worst performances I've seen. Voice-wise he was great... but when it came down to the actual showmanship... it seemed lackluster. Not to mention the complete and utter lack of "standard" Manson speeches. Something I look forward to every tour... and he didn't say a word to us, other than one time screaming "Maryland!"
The setlist was pretty much the same as a majority of the rest of the tour. No real surprises, still the same old, same old that he said he wouldn't be playing this tour.
I guess everyone was fucking up because Manson was giving middle fingers and throwing shit left and right. Knocked over Ginger's cymbals which caused Ginger to very quickly leave his kit, and he looked obviously pissed off when he left.
Skold and the Prodigy bassist dude were just kind of... boring live. Makes me miss seeing Twiggy or John 5, both of which were great live, full of energy. That and aside from Skold, there seems to be no band chemistry at all. Just judging by the way I saw things, I doubt this tour will finish with the current lineup, if at all.
Despite all the problems, and even though I'd rank thismy least favorite Manson show, I still enjoyed myself. Although when the show first started, I was surrounded by pretty much nothing but teenybopper type girls who started screaming as if they were at a Justin Timberlake concert. That also really skewed my perception of the concert, when I can't even hear the band over a bunch of girls screaming.
Not to mention the other problems I had with people there who were generally just annoying and thinking they deserve to get up front since they're shorter. If you wanna be up front in the pit, do like the rest of us there did... get there on time and work your way towards the front. Don't expect to recieve a free spot by strolling in after the first two bands played...

I can echo the sentiments of the previous review that it was the worst show. I will preface it by saying that for the last 5 tours I have gone to at least one show per album cycle and 'Mechanical Animals' was the defining album for me, and 'Eat Me, Drink Me' wasn't too bad, not great, but by no means a bad release.
That said, last night was awful. Despite over an hour wait for what most bands can do in 15 minutes (I can see why Slayer would want to go on before), he emerged pretty wasted/high/whatever, tripped over himself and faltered a few times. When he wasn't completely forgetting a verse he was mumbling through and slurring the rest of the song.
Same set, same old bag of tricks. Is the height of ideas he can come up with is wearing a boxing robe during Fight Song? Total cheese. He no longer really seems into the performance at all, sending a lot of time sitting at the front of the catwalk. Even his 'rebelious' mic stand throws and waters bottles into the audience were half hearted... The mic stand barely made it off the ground!
When he finally sweated out whatever he was inebriated on to begin with the show picked up in quality ever so slightly.
The sound was pretty god awful as well for most of it. I know going in Manson is one of the loudest shows around (and has the speaker stacks to prove it) but this was just loud for the sake of being loud. If you can have a clean mix while being loud, great, but if you can't, the giant wall of noise that is left for the rest of the set is kind of a bummer.
It was pretty sad to witness last night. It was my girls first Manson show and she was bummed and wishing she went on one of the older tours. I was pretty bummed too. I mean its not like a Lindsey or Britney that had no discernable talent from the get-go to really lose, but Manson is seeming more and more the trainwreck, a victim of his own hype and ego, and that makes watching another piss poor performance even worse knowing he has the talent to be doing much better.
Its one thing if you just don't give a fuck anymore, that's fine, but don't do this parade of wasting peoples $$ and deliver substandard results.

Cool pics, but IMHO the merch is just as lazy as the performance. The MA is the last time he put any sort of minor thought into merch instead of finding some 8th grader and paying him under the table to cop and paste his face on a tshirt template because he is too wasted to use a mouse. I mean how many shirts can you have with your face plastered on them, and have the rest look like you are promoting Monster Energy Drink.

Ok show, not great. I agree with isv666 - lack of showmanship. Just dosen't seem like he's that into palying live anymore. The boxing robe/boxing gloves looked stupid as shit! The set list wasn't great, but I really liked the Intro/Outro music for the show. ACSS was as great as ever live! It was nice to see Manson live again, but out of the eight times I've seen him, this one was the weakest.

I was in the pit for the show and I have to say I enjoyed it thoroughly. It wasn't the best Manson show, no Dead to the World, but it was still pretty cool. I thought the boxing outfit was funny and cute, it entertained me lol. I liked Are You the Rabbit? with him on the huge chair being ever so dirty, that's such a naughty song to perform to. I loved during Heart-Shaped Glasses when the red hearts fluttered down and when the fog and confetti shot out during Beautiful People. I appreciated that Manson tried to get somewhat closer to the audience this show, by spending a lot of time right in front and even though the right and left sides got neglected at the end it was cool he jumped off stage and tried to get closer to the fans until pulled back by a big, burly bodyguard. I didn't like the fact he didn't talk to the audience once really, now don't get me wrong, I don't like long winded diatribes from a performer, like Bruce Springsteen or some shit, but a little conversation would have been nice. I also could have done without the hour + long wait for Manson to take the stage, but having seen my fair share of Manson shows I am quite accustomed to his long ass entrances.
I also had my experience hampered by the fact there were some annoying ass girls in the front right against the fucking rail who kept acting as if they were "special" and shouldn't be pushed on or touched like it was their own fucking private show, Newsflash bitches, it's a Manson show, you are gonna get jostled you cunts.

Dude, what the fuck is going on with this tour? First the promise of his most elaborate set since MA, then his promise of ditching the classics in favor of some older tracks, and now everything he said this tour was supposed to be has turned into one heaping pile of bullshit. This is rapidly becoming one sad, sad joke.

Ok, just woke up, lol....
Awesome show, I went w/ fellow phantie Burlesk, we were the first people to get to the venue, we got there at midnight...they were the best 20 hr wait..haha. We also got the best spot of the night, dead center right up front. Although as Manson took the stage we were slowly being pushed to the right side but not enough to piss us off. The crowd was insane right up front. It was hot through the whole fucking day and very humid, when we got to the venue it was trashed, apparently Nickelback had just finished playing. The people that were in the line with us were really cool, slayer fans didn't show up 'til around 4pm. The videos I took look great minus the sound 'coz being up front w/ people screaming, pushing side to side and the speakers, i'll post the link a bit later as youtube approves my vids.

a note on the late start time: there appeared to be a problem with the drums, as for about a half hour there were several techs standing around the left side of the drums looking down, apparently trying to fix something. i assume this is what bumped the start time from ~9:45 to ~10:15.
and i don't think the now commonplace diatribes about his heart not being in it anymore are justified. i thought the sound was just fine and he seemed plenty "into it" to me, even jumping onto the floor to sing TBP in the arms of the crowd and almost having the mike ripped away and/or his hands ripped off in the process.
and i saw no indication that he was drugged up, forgetting lyrics, stumbling around, or what have you. some of these posts just sound to me like people overevaluating & looking for reasons to bitch rather than just sitting back, having fun, and enjoying the show. it's a strange mindset and it makes me wonder why such people would bother going in the first place.

Spoken like someone that wasn't either at the show or has no clue what a good clean sound should sound like.
Most of the techs were hovering around and replacing out Skold's pedal effect board and what not BTW pre-show not Gingers kit.
You must be oblivious to the first thing he did on stage was almost trip and fall and then did so again... Left out whole parts of Disposable Teens and Lunchbox, etc. Etc. And slurred-sung through half the songs until about 2/3rds into it.
Someones got a good case of the denials or obliviousness going on. Its not about being overly critical. I greatly enjoy Manson and have enjoyed pretty much all his past shows... But when the magic isn't there, the magic isn't there and lying to yourself isn't going to make it any better.
I don't know about you but I go to Manson shows to be entertained, and when he isn't being such, I'm not going to give him a pass because he is Marilyn Manson. Has nothing to do with being overly critical. No one actively spends money to go to a show of one of their favorite artists to have a bad time.

A note on the drums - Ginger was on the phone, very frantic, for about an hour before the set started and I don't think he hung up until the intro to IIWYV started. After the show, he stormed out of the dressing room directly on to the bus. I'm not sure what happened.

Nah, he would reach out to us and when we were all really closed to touching his hand he would back away (although I did touch his hand several times (pretty lame that I'm even talking about it, i know). He puts his 'PHIH' hat right in front of our faces like 'here my good fan, have it!' then he just throws is back to the stage. Little things like that.

What's up with all the whiners in this forum? Was at the Atlanta show, had a blast and didn't feel one iota of disapointment with the shortened show. It was great...and whats with the ubiquitous Slayer bashing(refering to ALL the posts on this forum, not just this thread)? They kicked ass! Are your pre-prubescent ears incapable of understanding pure metal? Have you been warped by your over-consumption of Eat Me? I'm sorry, but I think Slayer has done EXACTLY what you should all want in an opening act...with that being a brutal increase in your heart rate which prepares you for the main event. The sad thing is that even if you heard Araya's words, you wouldn't understand them (something he has commented on far too often in the past). The news post about Manson being boo'ed off the stage in Atlanta was completely false...those people were screaming Slayer.

Cool, Slayer has been around for 1000 years. The thing that bothers me is the repetitiveness of all their songs, I couldn't tell the difference between one song and the other. On top of that you have to deal with drunk sweaty assholes that are flying on top of you, that doesn't make it any better. It's no fun.

I appreciated Slayers performance, and I wouldnt consider myself a fan. I enjoy their lyrics, though at times they can sound muddled. I definately appreciate the surge that I felt when they played, regardless of the vocals. There were several times where Araya's bass line gave me heart flutters. Again, I can't speak for the show you all witnessed here, but I can say that Manson was very entertaining in Atlanta. So my overall sense here is that a bunch of you got there early, hugged the rail, waited for some Emo, got blown the F' up by Slayer, and this caused you all to whine about Mansons show. Thanks.
i was there for both bands..i love slayer and manson..but to really be honest slayer wasnt as good as i thought they'd be..they only played like 3 out of 5 of my fav songs i wanted to hear...not like they HAVE to please me but..im just saying that didnt help much either

Yeah I wanted to hear 213 (rare to hear live, so didnt expect it) and Divine Intervention. But Mandatory Suicide>Angel of Death was a great way to end their set. On another note, the guy sitting behind me had a baby blue Trinity Baptist Church baseball jersey/t-shirt on...thought that was f'in hilarious

really nice to see the chaos back to the beautiful people, that moment seemed to be as unpredictable as a manson show should always be. from what i've seen so far it seems that it was a good show. liked the vampire performance and the love song theatrics and vocals were ace. what the fuck happened during ACSS though? lol Manson totaly lost the control of the song and it was quite funny to see how he understood it. Better not to repeat it very often... it ruins the all the vibe built on the way.

Wow. Everyone's pics are great! Especially yours, Gribble. What kind of camera do you have? I want one! : )
I would have loved to have seen the boxing robe in Atlanta. And to think, I was originally going to be in Maryland, too. Oh well.
And I can also confirm that no one boo'd Manson after the Atlanta show. But we all did stand around in shock with wide eyes and gaping jaws because really---how many shows in Manson's history have not included The Beautiful People? Not many, I would think.
Glad you all (or most of you anyway) had a good time.

all pre-ACSS shows, unless you count him doing random lyrics from it during My Monkey.
Also, the show he fell and broke his ankle in 99. That's about it.

If I saw you in person, I would shake your hand. The board needs more people like you, I hope you stick around. Seriously, what you said couldn't be more fucking true! Welcome to the Phant man.

I hope Gingers all fine and dandy. (refering to him leaving fast and on the phone for a long time)
And if manson did yell at him before mOBSCENE, he needs to stop being a dick to his band members. He fucks up much more then any of them.
On a positive side, he looks hillarious in that white coat and boxing gloves. his pics were awesome, Gribble especially. thanks.
Glad to hear it was a pretty good show. Seemed to be heaps of phants there.

manson manson manson. a white boxingcoat of silk??? And makeup which make you look 68 not 38. And that platform thing without the skirt which make you look like a flying witch. And that white rainingcoat for beautiful people...
On the other hand tho. Killer live. And. More publicum contact. The most since I dunno 2001 or something... Well I think this tour is great, even tho it has the same songs venue after venue and contain all of that silly props which just is waste of money.
Variation when it come to songs and good speeches would boost the shows 70% btw.

Tim Skold is the one that fucks all up. (but that's my opinion)
He makes A LOT mistakes more than Chris and Rob WTF is wrong with Skold!?.. Manson must kick him out of the band with his boxing gloves during the fight song and put Zim Zum back at the guitar. *Dreams*

Yeah, that is my only wonder...why without the skirt? It looks odd.And Manson should add more new songs.
And yes,I agree about Atlanta crowd shouting for more Slayer during Manson-someone who I know went and he said so as well.He liked Manson set and was glad that Manson didn't do any gay shit or shove the mic up his ass.I responded with, wha?Well, that's just no fun,now is it?Manson needs to do more crazy shit to shock these boring Slayer vikings!!!!!He also said there were lots of technical problems in Manson's set.And it was lightening.

Haven't checked the vids yet, but like the pics.
As for those who are complaining because some of us complained that the show wasn't up to par in our opinions, remember... most of us have said we still enjoyed the show. It's just that for some of us, based off previous performances of Manson's, it wasn't as good as we've come to expect.

Thanks for all the picture compliments guys! They were all taken with an Olympus C-740. It's a couple years old so they shouldn't be too terribly expensive.

What was up with this, anyway? Would the band start playing the music for "The Beautiful People" as a teaser, or would he just sing the lyrics to that song over "My Monkey"? Anybody got a video of this?

Just wondering how Manson and Skold seemed to get along at this show.
Their demeanor was a bit icy in Atlanta. No Skold molestation, if you know what I mean, and Manson barely made it over to our side of the stage, playing to the center and Rob's side for most of the night. Skold even gave Manson the fuck off/screw you gesture (the fangul--hand straight, fingertips running the length of the neck to the chin). When my sister saw him do that, she immediately looked over at Manson, who was on the catwalk, and he was looking right at Skold.
Maybe we're reading too much into it, but... But, they really seemed to play off each other at all the European shows.

From what I could see (I was on Rob's side), Manson and Skold seemed to be getting along fine. He spent a lot of time in the center and on the left. He hardly ever came over to Rob's side except on few special occasions.

i think i was standing right next to you at the t-shirt stand after the show..
You should have said 'ello. Did you follow me out with my friend? Wait, I remember two chicks in front of me at the stand...and I'm my memory is getting fuzzy about behind me.
On the note of Manson being pissy, I thought I saw Manson knock over one of Fish's kits...
Edit: I'm suprised that only one of the 'phants spotted me, or thought they did. I mean, the hat stuck out...
Really liking the first one. And, um, where is the photo that either preceded or followed this one, hmmm? ; ) Just kidding!

Arrived at 7:30AM to wait in line, no porter potties or anything. Nothing. Shitty.
