There's no way in hell I'm not going.

I'm just waiting for ticketmaster...

EDIT: Just thought that I'd point out that the correct date is in the thread's subject line (July 31st), not the thread itself (August 18th), so no one gets confused.

I finally got my Slaytanic membership straightened out and ordered my ticket a few moments ago...see you in the pit, damnit!!

:)

if you were serious about the momentarily part, i'm glad to hear pit tickets were still available hours after the pre-sale started.
i gotta get reserved seats for my group of four for one show, and pit tickets for another.

Yeah...I was quite lucky.

I woke up late today and laid around slothfully watching Rush for the five-billionth time. When I finished watching the movie I decided I'd better get online and call MusicToday about fixing my Slaytanic Army account so I could use it for the presales, not realizing they'd begun several hours earlier!!

Fortunately, I was able to resolve the matter quickly and buy tickets immediately.

Still, I was nearly paralysed with fear that I'd fucked up and missed out entirely.

Glad I finally got some use out of my goddamned Slayer account.

Are you going to come to Toronto, Haz? I bought my ticket a day or two ago, and got 300 section. They may still have some.

I will be here, the Chicago show, and the Detroit show.

I'm trying, damnit, I promise.

Luckily, I found the envelope containing my recently-received replacement Social Security card while j_absi and I were excavating giftbag goodies from the many strata of detritus upon my floor.

Unfortunately, I've also lost my driver's license sometime in the past week, and now I have to find that, too...but once I have I'll be able to begin the glacially-paced passport procurement procedures.

I'm told that I ought to expect that process to take at least six weeks, so it's just a race against time. If it arrives early enough, though, I'll snap up a crappy ticket at the last minute and see you there for sure.

:)

That would be awesome. (For a couple extra bucks you can get your passport in a week. I had mine in about two days, I think. I don't know if America is the same, but I don't see why not.) Good luck, anyhow. Just let me know, if you are coming. :)

I got a new license the other day, and I found the one I lost. So I'm set on licenses now. Anyway, about the rush job, that's something I'll look into, thanks! I'm going down to Springfield, and I know the wait for passports in Chicago is shitty so I think I'm gonna try to get mine straight from the state capital, damnit!

Still trying...

Anyone wanna buy me a drink? ;)
If I make it there I'll be crossing a border. So, I'll buy you a drink if you smoke me out, eh?

;)

Gribble
06-07-2007, 08:47 PM
Are you crossing the border by car? If so, you don't need a passport. That changes in 2008, but for now you're good.

Hazekiah
06-07-2007, 08:55 PM
No, most likely on Amtrak or Greyhound, and I have no idea about the legality of that. That's interesting to hear, though, everyone I've spoken to about it has lead me to believe that passports are now required.

Gribble
06-07-2007, 08:59 PM
Yeah, you're fine then. As long as you're crossing the border on ground or by sea you don't need a passport. You probably wouldn't have it in time anyway unless you paid for the express processing - I just got mine and I applied around four months ago.

Here is the government's info on it: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2223.html

They're in the $50 to $60 range.

haz do you wanna camp out with us?:)

That'd be cool, actually. Plus, it's not like I have that much to do in Cleveland, beyond the show itself.

However, I still have no idea how I'll be gettin from Atlanta (the previous show) to Cleveland, so I can't yet say for sure that I'll be camping out.

I'll keep in touch in here and let you know as I figure out what's goin' on. You've gotta admit, after all our failed meet-ups in Chicago, it'd be pretty awesome if we finally meet in fucking Cleveland, of all places.

I'll be there.

Ticket Master says it's General Admission only, so I'm assuming it's just a stage and such?

Or is it, first one to the front wins front row eh? Like in most, general admission only shows heh...

Kinda pisses me off he isn't coming to Columbus, fuckin rich cocksuckers closed down THE ONLY ampatheater in town.

In case anyone is wondering, Tower City Ampitheatre--which used to be called Natuica--, is an outdoor venue. It is all general admission. It's basically a stage set up in what used to be a parkinglot in front of the Cuyahoga River. So there's a relatively large area of standing room in front of the stange, and there are aluminum bleachers set up behind that. There is no assigned seating. It would be completely useless to get there really early to camp out, but you guys can do whatever you want, obviously.

I seriously hope the Phanties can get together somehow, because I'll be going all by my lonesome and I don't want to get squashed like a bug in the pit by some big, fat, hairy Slayer fan. :p

(Have I mentioned yet that I do not appreciate paying good money to see Slayer? Whatever, I've never even heard one of their songs. Grr, waste of money.)

lets go together. i'll buy my ticket and all i need is a ride there. and i can come back, it's just in order to make this concert seem more impossible, my parents said i probably couldn't go back to columbus and i'd have to stay in cleveland for the night.

"No, honey, we don't want you going to the concert at all if you're going to try and make the drive home later that same night. It just doesn't sound safe. Why don't you get a hotel room with a stranger you met on the Internet, instead?"

Black skinny tripp pants, most likly a manson t-shirt, and some combat boots. Real fuckin simple.

Look for the skinny black haired guy at the front of the line.

It'll be so much easier if we all get there early...we could meet up, chill get to know one another, have a cock sucking circle around a hooker, that sorta shit.

Okay, I have a decent time schedual laid out.

Concert lets in at 7pm. So I think I'm going to wake my scrowny ass up at around 7am. I'm going to brush my teeth fuck some cheap slut, then I'm going to take a hot shower, grab some phants on the way to cleveland, and be there hopefully by noon. Then I'm going to sit my silly ass in line and play my nintendo DS. Thats a plan right there.

Afterwards if theres a club open I'm surely gonna be there.

If anyone is willing to roll with me, let me know. Keep in mind you have to be on the way up from Columbus, have no intent on killing me, and throw in on gas.

After wrestling around with some dates and trying to unsuccessfully get pit tickets for other places, the only option was Ohio, which is actually an 8 hour drive but it’s all good, Mapquest better not let me down, I have never ventured up north by car by myself before anything above D.C

I look forward to meeting some of you there. I usually go to concerts alone, and prefer that. However, being a Manson fan I feel a sense of comradery that I'm sure will provide some good times. Just to see what kind of weird and entertaining antics and conversations that are to be had. I might be bringing some other friends with me that aren't on the board, and my brother possibly as well. After that, if anyone is up to going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, that'd be a fun detour to take either before of after the show.

I've just done some calculating in my head.

Theres only one ohio stop, and naturally theres going to be a shitload of slayer fans up there for this show. I think we all really need to meet up at a hotel or somewhere the night before. In all honesty the time most of us get there, the line is going to be huge...and by huge picture the last time Kiss ever did a show huge.

Ma suggested I get a lawn chair and chill outside with a book or something. That might not be a bad idea, anyone got some similar ideas on this, because we all know this might be the last time Manson EVER does a tour.

PoisonedCookies
07-13-2007, 08:47 PM
Yeah, that's what he said about the last tour... and the one before that, I believe. ;)

I'm just overly smug cuz I saw him in his last tour, and that was like my goal in life... haha.
Wish I could do the hotel thing, but a)I'm a-skeered of strangers from teh interwebs ;) and b) I'm poor (b is the main reason).

It'll be a calm night, I might just camp out with a butane stove.

Only question I have. Is it indoors? I've never been to this venue. I have been in a Slayer pit, and it is brutal, but all I got was a pinched nerve in my neck. So, it wasn't that bad. ;) I've been to so many brutal shows this seems almost tame. Ever been in a Deicide, or a Lamb of God pit? They can be just as vicious.

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm a girl by the way, after that douche bag speedmetal slayer fan came in and pulled out the intimidation card I kinda doubted myself for a bit, but soon after realized I can't let those types of people get to me. However I actually do believe that it's going to be a rough setting and that slayer fans are a tough crowd, pfft, c'mon, Ohio, bleh! Well, at least it's not Texas. I find it amusing how people from both sides try to put on tough fronts and suddenly it's cowardly to be worried, but whatever, I'll still make an effort to get to the front, (and i'm strength training with weights) lol

How cool would that be? :D

It would also be sweet if we could make some sort of huge-ass poster that would say somethings along the lines of "we're the fans who waited," you know, because of how he wrote in the cover jacket that he wanted to thank all the fans who stayed loyal to him even after he did practically nothing for like 3 years. Haha.

Oooooh I would completely die if I got to meet him. That's another good reason for us to meet up; strength in numbers.

Or "We're your illigitemate children, feed us".

I plan on venturing there and back the day of the show. Due to work scheduling and both not wanting to be around most of the people. I
plan on meeting up with those from the boards if they wish, but I don't
plan on camping out. I just look forward to getting a good spot and hanging

I was wondering if anyone was interested in getting together the night before the show and meeting up for drinks? It would be a good opportunity for all of us to meet each other and I can also offer help with info. about the city and the venue to anyone that needs it. Just for the record, Jackie-babs typed the above, linked-to message himself, following an outburst of semi-dictation.

I do know how to spell Cleveland.

:P

(Big ups to j_absi for his assistance in a pinch, though.)

Anyway, I went ahead and got my own hotel room for today (Monday the 30th).

If anyone happens to find themselves in the Cleveland area and feels like hangin' out inside, going out somewhere, or if you need a place to stay, feel free to hit me up.

I'm in a two bed hotel room...all by my lonesome. If you feel like comin' up, the other bed is free to all.

As is mine, for that matter.

;)

(Booty-shakin' encouraged, but not required.)

That's the Cleveland Comfort Inn, Room 212, at the intersection of Euclid and 18th street.

I managed to get ahold of my cousin from around here and we'll be meeting up for an Ethiopian dinner around 7, so I'll be gone for awhile for that. But feel free to call me at (216) 861-0001 (front desk), just dial 7 and then my room number, 212. If I'm out, just leave a message or PM j_absinthe for my cell number.

The place is great. I'm a mile from the venue, next to the R&R Hall of Fame/Museum, down the street from a giant shopping center with a theater, etc.

No one's at the venue, though.

(Which is more of a tent than it is an amphitheater, but whatever.)

Hey, I am originally from da burg. Where at in the city are you from? Same
go's for me. I am still debating on a hot as rabbit suit that's been butchered to look like a cross between House of 1000 corpses and bugs bunny after he got killed by that Elmer Fudd guy. Or just wearing casual offensive gear. Just

^I live in a crappy little town called Evans City, its about 25 minutes north of Pittsburgh. Its cheap to live there, but I used to live right out of North Park. On a urban legend road, that people call "Blue Mist Road". Maybe you have heard the tales.
The fact that its going to be close to 90 and humid out, my clothing decision was easy this time. One too many concerts I have been too, I suffered in the heat outside. I am there to have a awesome time, not be a miserable sweat ball, seeking shade. So I am wearing something simple.

Well, it is one of those outdoor/indoor tent type venues, so you won't be in the direct sunlight. I used to go to north park a lot as a kid. So, I know what you are talking about. I grew up on Perry Hilltop on the Northside. As for

I:

nail polish.
medium length brown curlyish hair
music notes tattood on my wrist
ozzy sweatband

Hey, tell us about the show! ;P

Anything that seemed particularly special compared to the other shows so far?

My really quick review:

Shitty Setlist. (way to many emdm songs, and for older songs he really just did the hits)
Bass was up WAY to high and got me sick, and I still can't hear for shit due to it.
He didn't finish Sweet Dreams, he just led it straight into Lunchbox, which pissed me off really bad.
Nothing really "shocking" about the performance at all.
I want to fuck Bleeding Throughs keyboardist really bad

I thaught it was a pretty good performance, even if the setlist was the same old shit.
I agree, manson's vocal performance sounded...a lot better than normal.
I enjoyed the podium for anti christ superstar.
And, of course, Manson drew a huge crowd.
Alot bigger than Slayer, in my opinion.
Though...obviously, slayer's pit was bigger.
But, as for what i look liked, i was dressed up in tight leather pants, torn at the bottom, platform boots, black gloves, A LOT of makeup, black hair, and just a manson shirt.

i would do a review on all 3 bands, but im sure no1 wants to hear aboot slayer, or bleeding through so...
Turtle's set list was right, i dont remember exact order. He did a good job, he was vocally amazing, the bass was up entirely too much, and it wasent like the guitar, just the hole thing, and it sort of made it sound like shit. He did his stage thinggies, as expected, like performing in a robe during the fight song, comming out with a fake blade on the back of his mic, he played in a huge fucking chair... amongest other things, like haveing heart confettie, the coolest was the return of the pedastool

he had this wierd thing for constantly having his hands down his pants, and then right after rubbing his face

it was over all a good show, his stage act is amazing still, im not to fond of the set list, the thing that made me mad was how he took sweet dreams, and without finishing it, ran it right in to lunch box

i was dressed in blue jeans, tears in both knees, a slipknot shit, the words are sparcly with the tribal S down the back in silver, with long curly hair, i spent the entire concert somewere around turtle. I was aboot 10 people max away from the stage, in the center... dirrectly infront of that little walk way thinggy that comes out from the stage

Just A Car Crash Away
Rock is Dead
Heart Shaped Glasses
The Dope Show
Putting Holes in Happiness
The Fight Song
The Love Song
Antichrist Superstar
The Beautiful People

No Reflecting God :(((
He did wear the boxing robe for Fight Song which was so fucking funny, but:
mOBSCENE - top hat/dandy jacket
Rabbit- the Alice Chair
Sweet Dreams- lights off/lighted helmet-goggles thing
Heart Shaped- heart confetti/heart shaped glasses
Fight Song- boxing ring/boxer's outfit
Love Song- raised up platform
Antichrist- podium
Beautiful People- white streamers/heart confetti

First I must say, Slayer is alright, but fuck their crowd. My friend wasn't even in the pit and his fucking eye got destroyed. Jesus Christ.

Anyhow.

His vocals were really good, better than the Palm Beach show, and he seemed to be in a great mood, but he completely lost his voice screaming of Fight Song and ended up not singing most of it. Skold looked bored and fucked up on Sweet Dreams and Beautiful People, but Rob was great, as was Ginger. ERW was there and standing on Skold's side of the stage.

Before Heart Shaped Glasses they played the intro synth noises from Disassociative and I got REALLY excited, thinking it was a new addition. I was wrong, though.

Good show, horrible crowd for Slayer, thank God most of them left.
Overall, great show.

Hey guys! This is my first post here(never posted before but have been lurking for about 8 months). Anyways, wanted to say that I thought the show was fucking awesome, and I've seen him three times before! This show wasn't quite as good as the two times I saw him on Guns, God Govt., but wasn't nearly as bad as the Grotesk Burlesque Ozzfest show. He only started 10 minutes late, which isn't bad from what I read of earlier shows. The only things that seemed to be missing were the candles and I don't know if it was just where I was standing but I didn't notice anything in the way of visuals like the pills during the dope show or the flames during just a car crash away. The setlist was identical to Tampa and Columbia as far as I could tell. His singing didn't seem too bad at all except for the fight song - he just can't seem to nail that one anymore. I loved the boxing gloves, robe, and drop down "ring style" mic he used on that one. Stand outs were the love song with the elevated platform, of course antichrist superstar w/ podium and banners, and the beautiful people with the rain of confetti and smoke - makes an excellent closer. I did try to snag some video w/ my cell phone, but sadly it wouldn't record for more than 2:45 even with a 1GB memory card, and the sound ended up atrociously bad. I did get some good visuals though when I aimed at the screen instead of the stage. If you really want them, I'll try to put them up tomorrow. All in all though, I was quite impressed and was definitely worth the 3 hour drive. I did get one good pic and I'll attach that of the podium. Now I need sleep as I can barely even type. Goodnight!

I'm fairly sure your first post critisized his the way he described himself, not his intelligence.

And besides, he's just some guy that went to a Manson concert and posted a short review for everybody to read. And so you say that he must be a teenager because he listens to Slipknot, and so he's stupid.

I basically just guessed the guys age because . . . well, that's what a typical teenager would wear. As you do get older, you learn proper concert etiquette on not to wear a band shirt for the band that you are goign to see, or a different band shirt. He chose to wear a different band shirt, which I give him props for not wearing a Manson shirt.

I just mean he has way better that he could've used.

That's true, but not having Tainted Love nor Personal Jesus is basically a better step in the right direction.

ive been to a lot on concerts, not to mention countless shows, and i like to express my other musican taste... everyone there knows that i like iether manson or slayer, or both (i just forgot totally about bleeing through lol) and i dont understand why everyone went all anal for me wairing a slipknot shirt, you know, because i listen to slipknot, my review on a manson concert sucks

If you're young you're young so what? age has nothing to do with anything, but if you aren't going to write things in an even remotely intelligent manner than I'm not going to take you to seriously.

im sorry that i said "thinggy's" cause its 3 in the mourning and i was sweating my ass of for like 6 hours at a concert all day today, and just decided to type thinggy's instead of thinking when i typed it... chill

I'm glad you kids had a good time. No really I am.

Now let me tell you my experiance.

Showed up at around Noon, the back entrence and didn't know that we were to line up on the other side. Came back at two got in line a few were there. Met Mizery, and then met Haz and I'm not going to lie it was nice to meet some phants.

So for about five hours, I sat in the baking heat watching more children in shitty make-up get into line, and then when their friends strolled in late, let them ditch to the rest of line. Thats swell and dandy.

Well gates open I go in, and end up behind this big white guy. Third rowish. Next to a big mob of Manson groupies. Well Slayer rolls through and the crowd is intensive. Not that bad, but intense. Massive pushing and such.

That wasn't bad....

Manson comes on.

EVERY SINGLE LITTLE BITCH WHO'S WANTED TO FUCK MARILYN MANSON BUM RUSHES THE STAGE.

In short, I end up sandwhiched behind a small group of like...16 year old Manson girls who have their boyfriends block everyone with a link of arms to protect them. Yet they start dropping like flys and bail because the pressure is too much. The pushing was worse than slayer, and everyone wanted in. Eventually I tire, and end up on the floor. I battle my way back to the top, start yelling and then start swinging. After some short fights, one of the guys say I was yelling for help because I was getting crushed and pull me out. When I was getting out people where trying to hold onto me, and with my big boots I set them straight.

I stumble onto the pit and look at Manson in a shell shock glance, and well I make my way to the back in defeat. Manson Groupies...were just too powerful for me by myself to deal with. So I stumble around and time flys so fucking fast to where I end up at a bar drinking water and pepsi. Find some friends from Columbus and watch the show away from the mob of kids in horrible makeup.

His setlist was alittle dissipointing. Nothing from the latter half of EMDM. I wanted to hear Mutilation and Devil Makes 3, and Evidence...but hey we gotta play the songs the kids will enjoy.

The simple fact he also started forgetting words to his own songs, and throwing hissy fits on stage...just made me wonder what the fuck the good of going was. In the words of my good friend, Marilyn..."Delusional Rantings of a Washed Up Rockstar." I bought some Merch, and went home. I was rather dissipointed by the show, he obviously did it on something. My friend guessed he did a show straight thats why he forgot shit.

In other words, my standings with Manson are at a new low. I felt cheated out of 50 bucks and a tank of gas. His fans where more bitches than Slayer's. I'm sure you kids loved it because it was your first AND ONLY time seeing Manson. I've seen him in an enclosed club, where there was electricity. THAT WAS A MANSON SHOW. This was just a...."shit gotta go to work" proformance.

I got some pictures on a disposable, I'm put em up later.

yes, every little goth fag... all 300 of them that were by the stage (all of witch weight 265 lbs. togeather) and so everyone decides to push back against them, and so i spent a short period picking up chicks so i dident step on there heads... i edventully made my way up further, next to a couple gorillas, after thinking that they all left after slayer left, but it was nice to be close to the stage and not have to worrie about having some littel 26 pound kid in 3 tons of eye liner try and fuck me in the ass on his way to the stage... they edventully callmed down, and thought it was cool to jump, instead of moshing (understandable for manson) so i spent the rest of the concert screaming lyrics at the top of my lugs, and throwing every little skinny goth kid that thought he was cool and wanted to jump in to me

Well these "Goths" you speak of aren't really goth at all. Just some kids who think it's hardcore to rebel and look stupid. I used to be one of them, but then I grew up.

Most Goths hate manson (more than what the fans hate him)
Those dickweeds give off the wrong impression of what goth is, and to a degree, Manson is the one responsible for misleading them into thinking it was all goth

It's just "Shock Rock" nothing more. Wish these wannabe "Goth" kids would understand that.

Saw an earlier post referencing Rock is Dead at the third spot on the setlist and mOBSCENE coming prior to Dope Show? Is this accurate, or was the list similar to the rest of the tour so far? Kinda like the idea of mOB>dope, felt like Rock is Dead was kinda lost in its setlist position. As for the surge of teeny-boppers rushing the stage at the start of Manson's set, did you NOT expect this? I honestly cannot understand how anyone of even the slightest intellectual caliber could not have the foresight to see this coming...you knew they weren't going to be there for Slayer, and you know that Manson's becoming increasingly more "pop"ulicious. Before long, the girls will be passing out like its the Beatles at Shea. That aside, I don't think it should hinder your show experience, though I am a different seed. The visual experience is not the most important part of the show for me, as usually my eyes are closed and Im in some transfixing moment with myself and the music...and this could also explain why I don't find Slayer boring, because if you are there to watch Slayer put on one hell of a visual performance you are kidding yourself. It seems funny to me all these preconceived notions of a perfect sound, perfect performance, and perfect environment at a live show, is it all that hard to embrace the imperfections?

First off I want to say it was great talking to Hazekiah, Shangri-LIE, iwtv and beautyscandel. I am happy I finally got to meet some Phanties.

I agree with most of what everyone else has said. So there is no need to repeat it. But here are some of my most memorable moments.

Right off the bat , I saw a young goth kid get a tooth knocked out of his head in the Bleeding Through pit. I am happy to report he found it in the middle of the chaos and I guess he retreated to the first aid tent. Needless to say he came back 15 minutes later, still toothless.

Slayer is what I expected, I don't like them so I guess they put on a good show. And as always the fans were playing in their pits. Nothing turns a girl on better like a bunch of drunk men, with testosterone blazing, sweating profusely, filling the place with B.O. that are trying to look tough. Uh huh, no thanks. Needless to say I left to the refreshment area after one of these sweaty idiots slammed his stinky body into me and used my tits to push himself back into the mayhem.

As they were setting up for Manson i got into position. I was about ten feet from the front, which wasn't to bad. I am 5'1" and can barely see regardless but I found a nice little spot. Now it took what seemed like forever for them to start. As we all waited the crowd slowly inched their way forward, making it a little snug, not to mention really sticky and hot. Then as stated by ot
