1997- right after ACSS was released. a guy walks by with brass knucks saying 'he was going to fuck someone seriously up'--alot of fights-even out of the pit.
i decided from then on when i went to an MM show to be in reserved seating.

This will be my 10th manson show. I only had seats for the first time I saw him. Kinda funny becuase it was in Worcester when it was called The Worcester Centrum. The seats were not that bad but I have had floor ever since and I dont realy think the crowd is that bad. Then again i tend to stay away from circle pits and retarded kids. I would bet Slayer has a worse pit. The last few times I saw them it was old drunk dudes and young teens jsut push moshing and being lame. I think the worst pit I was in was probably Korn in Hartford, CT. If you can get there real early try to get up front on the gate.. thats usually not that bad at all, at least it wasn't when I saw Manson in Portland, ME back on an Off-Fest date in 2003.

I've been dying for an answer to that - I'm bringing in my Cell for pictures & some video - but would love to know if regular Digital Cameras and/or Disposable Cameras are allowed?
'tis from DCU's website:
Q. Can I bring video or still cameras into the arena?
A. For most events, at the request of the artist, video cameras and flash photography are not permitted.
Don't know what's allowed and what's not for this show.

last time I was at the DCU center.. few years ago they were giving people shit about having the studded pyramid belts and camera cellphones. i was with my girlfriend and they told her to take the belt off or she couldnt come inside to see the show. She told the guy at the door then if my pants fall down and someone touches me I will make sure you told me to take the belt off.
i doubt you will be able to bring a camera. i tried to bring one in for korn back in 99 or 2000 and they wouldnt let it into the venue. If its a small camera just have a girl put it in her pants in the front. If that doesnt work then just put the camera in a small plastic food bag stuff it down the front of our pants and tape it to your leg as far up as you can get it.

a weaker show than his "best of" tour stop at Avalon in Boston. it seemed like manson was intoxicated to the point of stumbling. he blew part of the first verse of "mobscene," simply stopping and turning to the band, and then spent altogether too much time rolling around on the floor and sticking the microphone into a crowd that either wouldn't or couldn't sing the parts of the songs he assumed they'd sing.
it wasn't a bad show, per se, but a sloppy one. in many places, i think the show in manson's head was better than the one on the stage. too much gratuitous singing over skold's solos, not enough attention to melody and phrasing. one of the things i learned tonight was that if manson doesn't sing his heart out, the songs dissolve a bit. he's great when he'e locked into a focused place and giving it his all. he's a bit silly when he's all over the place and not on his marks with band.
and whoever helped make the decision about the boxing ring for "the fight song" needs to be beaten. it was purely silly. manson had no apparent idea what to do with himself in that chintzy looking boxer's robe. his little punches in the air were insult to injury. while we're on the effects, if manson wears the light-beam eye pieces, tech needs to ensure that one isn't flickering and going out. wee bit spinal tap, folks.

i believe so. i tried to not look at the list before going, but based on posts
i've read - this was the standard set:
(not in order)
IIWYV
Disposable Teens
Mobscene
AYTR
Sweet Dreams/Lunchbox
Love is Just a Car Crash Away
Heart Shaped Glasses
The Dope Show
The Love Song
The Fight Song
Antichrist Superstar
The Beautiful People
performance-wise: just a car crash away, if i was your vampire and anti-christ superstar held up nicely. he sang well, worked the stage with energy but not at the expense of the song, and the whole thing came together in those moments.

i just enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the show and the performance.. i was at the avalon show as well and enjoyed it as well but i thought he was more into the performace on this tour than on Against All Gods tour. He looked healthier as well in my opinion. I wish there was a few more songs played and i dislike the shorthen version of ACS but overall it was a fun show to me. I did laugh at the fight song and boxing ring scene. it was amusing and enjoyable at the same time.
At least Ginger's bass drum wasnt overpowering like Slayer's drumset. I thought slayer had a good set as well. This was my 4th time seeing them. They dont really do much on stage and they never did the other 3 times i saw them but they just get up there and tear it up old school thrash style.
I thought Bleeding Through was an awesome opening band. I have seen them a few times already and met them before. A great bunch of guys from Cali who know how to tear it up with some american metal/metalcore. I respected and was pleased to hear there very positive message about having many different kinds of styles and fans in the crowd. Thats exactly whats its all about having fun and the music and I thought it was really cool that Brandan said that to the crowd.
Jona from bleeding through was wearing a Dimmu Borgir short as well. I am pretty sure that was what was on it.
my 10th manson show and probably one of my favorites
You've already went to 10 concerts?!?! really?!?! Tell me what concerts =D

Hey there, this is Hazekiah posting from fukfrankie's badass, present-tense future-tech Palm Trio cell phone while we're makin' the roughly 400 mile trip back to her place from the show.
Fear not, lunchbox1113 -- some pretty mind-blowingly phenomenal goodies are en route with us. (Told you I'd get you back someday, Red_fox!!)
Manson didn't fuck up "mOBSCENE" half as badly as grinchtuc implies he did...presumably due to some monitor glitch, he didn't sing the line "this depression is great," but he turned around and was able to find his place in the song again with the help of the band right away. That was all that went wrong, so pardon me, but I wasn't bothered at all. If anything, I was impressed by how quickly Manson recovered from whatever threw him off.
Manson also recited the introductory snatch of words at the beginning of "Are You the Rabbit?" a bit earlier than usual, making them nearly a capella. Consequently, I could finally understand what he's been saying over the start of the song at earlier shows.
Oh, crap...I've been typing this out with a mini-stylus for the past hour. Gotta cut this short or ff's battery'll die before I get to finally post!!
Didn't notice any glitch with Manson's new rotating-spotlight glasses during "Sweet Dreams," but then, I guess I was in the seats (ff and I bought our tickets at 2 a.m., day of show). Oh, and no heart-shaped glasses during "H-S G..." tonight.
During "The Dope Show" Manson sang that the drugs (they say) are made in Massachusetts, but the text on the sign said Worcester. Which is technically correct, except what it REALLY said was "Worchester." Ouch. Oopsie!!
For "The Fight Song," Manson got all the words right for about the second time in the U.S. on this tour so far, and I don't care what anyone says, I love Manson's boxing ring staging...it's fun, energetic, and maintains the sports-related irony theme of the title, song, and video. His outfit is great, too. Dripping fangs double-M logo on the back, swirly heart logo/tat upon his left breast, and Marilyn and Manson on his left and right gloves, respectively. If they ever sell that shit to the public, I'm totally snatchin' up a coupla sets and hittin' the fuckin' gym.
For "The Love Song," Manson was sans robe (as in Philly/Camden), and they've finally worked out the choreography so it's dead-on fucking perfect. Raising and lowering at the right times, not so much fog that you can't see the flashing text, and they send the fog up the platform-lift under Manson in concentrated burst pulses synchronised with the call-and-response refrains, too, which looks badass as all only unholy fucking Hell.
At the start of "Antichrist Superstar," Manson brought out a bible, but it wasn't the burst-into-flames bible which he used in Philly/Camden (probably due to a venue pyro-ban I was told about by a few locals)...he used the Gideon's bible I was called upon to donate to the cause back in Cleveland, so no complaints here, goddamnit!!!!!
:)

Sorry I had to cut this so short...more to come later!!!

My third Manson show and probably the funnest. We had an awesome side view of the stage from our seats.
posthuman: saw you before the show outside--would've said hi but my friend was in desperate need of getting to a bathroom! anyways--
Bleeding Through was pretty good---they had a great attitude and were clearly thankful for the opportunity this tour provided. I wasn't impressed with Slayer---I guess I'm just not enough of a speed-metal fan to get it.
As for Manson, himself--- I came in with a few doubts given some of the stuff written here, but they were quickly allayed. He was energetic, smiling and sounded damn good-especially on the EMDM stuff. No forgotten lyrics as far as I could tell. The stage props were cool---the way he moved on the chair on AYTR was impressive. I love the boxing ring for the Fight Song too, especially the sparring act he does while singing.
Highlight musically was most assuredly Car Crash--he tore loose on it. Also really enjoyed ACSS---especially brining back the original stage and the robo-preacher movements. Crowd was into it all night long, which always is a plus. So all in all a great show, worth the money--although I really hope if he does do a second US leg it's a solo tour, I'm getting tired of these dual-headlining things that promoters seem to have fallen in love with.

Ya, I was hanging around outside, floating between door 13 (the floor enterance) and door 5 ( the press enterance). It was hot otuside and I enjoyed being inside the building for a little before the show. Sadly it felt like a wall of heat when I came back out from the DCU right before they started letting people inside.
Overall I enjoyed the show, wish I brought my digital camera but my cellphone photos will have to do.

Oh, and no heart-shaped glasses during "H-S G..." tonight.
I just spoke to Hazekiah, and he wanted to make something clear.
Upon further review of the evidence, he retracts this statement and apologizes in full to fukfrankie.
That is all.

I was there, I took my son and a friend from college, I got about three people away from the stage by the end of the show. Almost got crushed, got pushed all around, but you know what? I found that folks were basically decent and we all looked out for each other. I was aware of one fuckhead trying to start fights and hurt people in the mosh pit. My son was the one that sent him to the medics bitching that his ribs hurt real bad. Hey, good for him, he wanted it, he got it. Me, on the other hand, I maintianed personal eye contact with Manson for like three seconds. That'll be material for my wet dreams for a good long time. And my son caught a microphone that he threw out in the crowd. All in all, it was a very good time.

:)

You know, that is really cruel and unusual to tease us all like that. Little tidbits here and there..... I hope you're keeping a diary so you can fill us in on all the dirt when you get back.
In the meantime, let me just say it was great meeting you in Atlanta and I'm sorry we were only able to make it to one show. Would've loved to have been able to hang out longer---and from what I hear, the shows have only gotten better. Dammitalltohell!

As per DCU box office day of: Bleeding Through - 7 p.m.
Slayer - 8 p.m.
Manson - 9:40 p.m.
And Manson's Portland GB show was 8/16/03. I was there.
And...
So, I saw Manson last night and he said he was taking out one of the biggest stage shows he's done in a while... not since the MA tour. I mean, the HW tour was pretty basic but he did the job if you know what I mean. The magic was there. And sometimes the magic's only there if you're right up front. But the last 5 times (in the past 4 years) I've seen him I've been in front (within 2 "rows" of the front) and it's not that. The first 3 being GAOG was awesome every time. I mean, the LWF tour I kind of forgave him b/c it wasn't a "real" tour in my opinion, just something thrown together to keep him out there; tourwise.
But not just that...
The stage show was minimal. Yeah, the boxing thing for "fight song" was corny but okay, ACS felt obligatory, and the love song... just a riser with nothing underneath. He could've been more creative than that. Oh, and a fucking giant chair for AYTR? You meant big stage PRODUCTION and we got PROPS.
Manson's "hired guns" for guitar and keyboards reminded me of how NIN tours and this felt less like a "group" than years past. I'm only complaining because I'm used to the old shit. My first Manson show was the RID tour and it was awesome (also saw him in NYC for HW tour and on Ozzfest 01.)
And the set list was supposed to be "a lot off of Holy Wood." 3 songs. eh. I guess that's a lot considering a "full set" was only 14 songs. He did more with LWF. And this is headline?
Oh, and what about the "magician" he was hiring for the effects on Phantasmagoria that he was also supposed to utilize for the tour?
*and let's not forget about Manson saying he's assembling a band in the studio "that, if this was the last version (sic) of the band, it would be the one that I could be satisfied with if this was the last album/tour..." not exact words of course, but...

Sorry I had to cut this so short...more to come later!!!
;)
Wouldn't that be Marilyn and Manson, on his right and left gloves, respectively?

Ave,
For the lack of a better word, it was truly AWESOME!
Bottom-line is - Manson Annihilated!! I had a damn good time and I thought the show was just fucking amazing.
4 Words - Tim Skold is The SHIT!! He was frikkin awesome - the solo on Holes in Happiness - where he swung his fingers in style - I thought he set the shit straight.
Saturday evening rocked. We arrived at 7 at the DCU - took a wrong turn at the thruway - cost us about 45 min otherwise would have been there earlier. Anyhow, got beer, got our shit together and barged in.
I have to say I was very, VERY, impressed with Bleeding Through. They rocked. Music was good and so was the enegry. I think the whole crowd loved them. Pit was spinning crazy - and even they noted how good the crowd was to them and how much respect they got. I'm picking up their CD.
Slayer rocked!!! They put up a great show. I've never seen them, and heard very little - but I had a hell of a good time watching them. Slayer fans - in my Opinion - were Awesome! They enjoyed - they banged their heads - they screamed - and they had a good time. Isn't that what it's all about?
Yeah - we had 5 kids behind us who screamed "Slayer" every 4 minutes - shit, nothing wrong with that! I thought that was pretty cool. Same kids - screamed Manson every chance they got - and that's what I noticed - Most of the people their seemed to be Mansonites more then Slayers - yet everyone I could notice or see enjoyed both shows just as much.
From what I could gather - there was more energy & force during Manson's set - it rocked!
I have to disagree with this one guy that Manson was drunk & stumbling and whatever. Not from where I stood. I think he rocked - he was in it - and he put up a great show. One thing I severely missed was that he never spoke to us. Didn't say a word. Did his show and was gone.
But anyhow - When the opening tunes of Vampire started - I think we all lost it. I broke a few vocal chords right in that first song. Should have seen the fists pumping in the air and vocals screeching to glory everything Manson yelled "If I was your Vampire" during that song.
I think the sheer energy was enough to make it a great, memorable show.
Disposable teens had everyone on their feet and fists ripping the air above. It was annihilation.
I don't care what the fuck anybody says - Every single mother fucker in that show rocked to that "Fight Song" boxing arena - and I loved it!
Did anyone mention that Manson went down off the stage & inter-mingled with the crowd up front. Man I lost it when i saw that - all I could think was "Fuck seat tickets - I don't care if I'm getting bludgeoned to death - next time its' Pit tickets".
My personal favorites were "Just a car crash away" - I never knew the potential of this song live - he poured his skin out on this one and I loved every second of it. "Disposable Teens" - that song was pure energy - that was the shit right there. "If I was your Vampire" - stole the show for me. "ACSS/Beautiful People" - The sad thing was that it was the same shit we've seen & heard before - The great thing was - IT STILL ROCKED!!!
Are you the rabbit was fun to watch but quite honestly, the performance itself wasn't all that amazing. Same with HSG - Confetti and all was great - I do like that song - but Live it just didn't do it for me.
I have to agree with one thing this one guy said - Manson pointed the Mic at the crowd to complete a line way too many times and unfortunately the crowd didn't have a clue what to say. After the first two times - Manson should have got the idea. With Dope Show, I don't think anyone knew what he was gonna say - Massachusetts, Worcester, New England - he ended up with Massachusetts, and being the only one to scream it out I think.
In all, I LOVED IT - I think it was a great show - Manson was Awesome - and I had a hell of a good time. I'd do it again - in fact I can't wait to!!!
All my photos & videos are totally crapped out - but I'll put up whatever I have on my site and send a link here.

:P that's dopy - I think I'm still too zoned out from the show Saturday.
Yeah, that was the one disappointing part of the show. I mean I honestly expected him to say at least something.
No problem - I wish more of my pictures came out better. I think we took about 75 photographs and like 5 came out worthwhile. What's sad is more of Slayer's pics came out better then Manson's set. Sucks.

Ave,
The photographs/videos I took off my Cellphone came out really, really crummy. My cell's done better then that. Wish I had taken my camera in there somehow. We took like 73 pictures and like 3 came out half-way decent.
Regardless, if anyone wants to take a look at the pics/videos, you can check them out on my website (rahulsjohari.com) here:

If anyone wants me to put up their Photographs like a Gallery on my webpage - send me your pictures zipped and I'll put them up, needless to say will give you Due credit. That way other fans wanting to see better quality pics from the show can all view them in one location.

I kept turning around before each band played and looking in section 107 hoping you would see my shirt or red bandana.
I was right in front when Manson came over in front of skold and leaned into the crowd.. at that point lots of people climbed all over me to touch manson who in front of me haha.
Ramirez you must have been prety close to me.. within a few people distance wise. There were these two girls a few people to my left... one with short red hair and oen with short black hair.. maybe you were near them?

Did anyone else see the drunk/coked up obese woman scantily clad and humping the stair railing like a wilderbeast in heat? She did it through the entire show. Then she kept on dancing horribly in slow motion. I was really frightened.
BTW, I was wearing red/black striped tights with a black corset...anyone see me? (Although my description probably sounds like every other girl there :( )

Ramirez was this a fat white woman with horrible looking bleached hair that looked like a wig? She looked wasted when she walked by me with a cup of alcohol in her hand. She was soo annoying, a guy and his wife next to me was pissed at her and told her she was pissing everyone off and to go away.

better late than never, so here's me posting.
i think i've seen manson 4 times but i can't remember the dates/loc of one show, i'll have to check my tickets:
11/22/00 - Lowell, MA
08/07/01 - Mansfield, MA
08/04/07 - Worcester, MA
This show was amazing. as i posted in my album review, it was like seeing a religious icon for me. it has been so long since i've seen manson live, and i thought the new album was a giant bag of shit until i saw this show.
seriously awesome.
if i had thought of it i would have posted here for people to find me at the show. i was wearing a black tank top and capris (and looked like crap from work), not very unique i know, but i have a massive tattoo on the side of each leg, people usually spot me that way. (portrait and a skull) check the space. next time he plays in mass i'll be sure to check the site, be sweet to meet some phants
^^^That's what I was wearing
Goddamnit...I saw you and drooled accordingly. I also tried to give you some of my Manson stickers but I had to kneel down and dig through my gas-mask bag to find 'em, and I lost track of you in the process.
