Being a member of the Slatanic Wehrmacht, however, I was able to purchase my presale ticket just mere moments ago!
So, I'm mildly concerned about actually getting to this show (especially now that it turns out the show is actually in Selma, not San Antonio). No car, no real money. Getting from Chicago to Texas? Ouch. That's gonna be hard.
Nonetheless, fuck it. I've got two-and-a-half months to figure that shit out.
I'm in.
See you bastards in the pit, damnit.

ORCHESTRA GENERAL ADMISSION (MOSH PIT AREA)
RIGHT OF CENTER
GENERAL ADMISSION AREAS - ORCHESTRA OR LAWN
RESERVED SEATS
Right of center? I had CENTER on my first seafrch, but before I finished, I did a dipshit thing by opening a new window and doing a new ticket search for cheaper tickets. When I was about to finish checkout in my first window, I realized that I was about to purchase THOSE instead. When I re-searched, it gave me right of center. Is that bad? How can they really split up the general admission anyway?
EDIT: And YEAH, it's not in SA. WTF??
synastar

Pit tickets are pit tickets.... if you want to be in the center right in front you have to get there hours before hand like 2/3pm and no be pussy enough to endure standing in the South Texas heat for hours and getting crushed by the rest of the fans. This will be my 5th time, but I won't be on the rail because I am pregnant so I will have to stand in the back of the pit. Drink lots of water the days before and Best of Luck!
PS to Edit: Selma is east of San Antonio.... wow...
Hazekiah

Holy shit!! I'll be flying to San Antonio...how the fuck do I get to Selma?!? It's over twenty miles away!!
Are there shuttle buses, maybe? I know large venues in suburbs sometimes have those for their bigger shows...any ideas, anyone?
synastar
06-20-2007, 11:17 AM
I am pretty sure you can take the Via bus, the venue is next to a large racetrack. Here is the Via website: http://www.viainfo.net
But depending on how late the show runs you might have to get a cab to where you are staying.

Unless Manson popping a boner unaided counts. That'd be a big surprise for our favorite geriatric rocker.
ED hit him pretty hard during the AAG days. That's why he was so depressed and was living the lifestyle of a failed rock star. That's also why Dita left him. When he found out that he wasn't packing enough of a punch anymore, he couldn't take it. That was why last year was so hard for him

All I can realy tell you that I remember is that even the written setlist was different than what he played.
JACCA wasn't even written on the setlist (EDIT: And it wasn't played, either, I mean), and PHIH was, but wasn't played. Rock is dead was switched with Dope Show, and IHA was played in place of two songs I can't remember, as apparently happened in Dallas.
Good enough?
EDIT: I see above that apparently Fight Song was dropped in Dallas. Wasn't the case in SA. Sorry I can't remember better.

The 10 character rule. In their post, they should haveonly used the 7 letters, and one punctuation mark, not the preceding 900 dots.

I just got back from Texas...so later tonight I'll post the pics I took of this show. I know I said I would post the Dallas stuff, but I was on acid and all the pics are on Profane's laptop. We'll get them posted ASAP.
Here is just a few pics I took from the pit in the beginning of the show...

Small bit of info. about the show, because I'm driving right now, heh. Reviews on all Texas shows to come shortly.
This was one fucking incredible--I mean, incredible show.
The show started extremely late. As such, "Putting Holes in Happiness" and "Just a Car Crash Away" were not played. "Irresponsible Hate Anthem" once again replaced "Are You the Rabbit?"
"The Fight Song" was played sans boxing gear. (He instead wore a cap similar to the one he wore in the video.)
Despite having an even shorter set list and a number of tiny technical problems (the bible, for instance, refused to catch fire yesterday), the man maintained the energy and brought the fucking place down. The crowd ate up everything Manson threw at them. The pit during Slayer was admittedly the most boring bunch of folk I've ever been swarmed by--hardly a nudge in any direction--but for Manson's set--the gloves came off, folks. (One of my shirts is covered in someone else's blood, heh.) Manson even gave us a small speech, though I was too deaf by this show to understand what he was getting at.
Skold's guitar work was the best I've seen from him in the past three shows, and he really seemed to have a good time. A pose and a big, impish grin was his good-bye to us, and I must say, with his playfulness and fiendish stage presence, I couldn't help but love the man all the more.
I'll probably add more later, but there's a small bit.
(Again, spectacular show.)
EDIT: Whoops, heh. I tried posting this a few hours ago, but my phone had logged me out of the 'Phant, and I never bothered to check if it had gone through. :x

As six already stated, another great show. I just got back from Texas, so I'm still kind of out of it, but I will just say that there should be a few nice surprises for all of you once filicide, sixpastsix and I get everything together. There is one thing in particular that should blow everyone's mind.

I was on the right hand side in front and was wondering if anyone else experienced the rudeness at the start off the show by the Slayer fans. We had people hitting us, knocked over about 25 people, and were screaming at anyone with a Manson shirt that he sucked. It was aweful. We then moved over to the front center and had no other problems. It wasn't just typical pit behavior, this is my 5th time in a Manson pit and this was just out right jackass behavior.
This show- Although Lacking 2 tracks and most of the props was an excellent show. He put in energy and sounded great much unlike the AAG show I saw in corpus which was by far the worst manson show I have ever seen. However nothing yet has been able to top the freakers Ball for me in 03.

Thanks so much for those vids, especially The Reflecting God. It's my all time favorite song and it sounds so amazing. Damn, I wish they would tour North America just one more time....not counting the upcoming Mexico shows.
Totally...it's obvious they are getting really comfortable playing together and feeding off each other's energy. Put simply, they're complete badasses onstage. It'd be tragic if they don't make one more lap around the U.S./Canada. If the machine ain't broken, keep it going.

The fog/ riser definitely works better for the reflecting god rather than the love song. I was glad to hear the love song though since I've seen the reflecting god 10+ times or so. Hate anthem is really good. Manson is right in front of the camera and I just love how skold drops his guitar before the last part.

Good to see that his screaming (although a bit high pitched and cryish) is starting to become powerful again and that he has power in his voice again. And also nice to see he's giving the actual singing of the songs a go again. And it's also good to see him scream in parts he used to stop screaming in, and stop screaming in parts he knows he just cant do.
Although the podium may be a bit wierd, I like how the smoke is covering him in Reflecting God... Almost like his voice from the clouds IS of God. Impressive!
The lights are starting to come back into an impressive dynamic aswell and the stage setup is starting to look really good (if a little basic)
Awsome pics and vids. Thanks heaps for sharing

Thank you, Six.
Burlesk: I'm not a stickler for details like that. My overall memory of the performance is what counts, and it was fucking amazing.
There weren't any songs played that I regret hearing (well, I wasn't exactly viewing while Sweet Dreams was being played, but I'm pretty sure I would have enjoyed it), and I had a blast.
That's what really matters. Not my comprehensive memory of the setlist...

I agree. The only way I could remember the setlist is if I wrote it down & took photos during the show.

Originally I was worried when I heard of the setlist being cut short of so many amazing songs, assuming it meant the tour took a dip quality-wise. These videos obviously disprove that, so does anyone know why so many new songs were left off?

When we were backstage, I saw a bulletin posted in Skolds room that said "STRICT 11:00 PM CURFEW".
The show got off to a late start, and it went past that curfew as it was with the setlist that was played. The 'official setlist' that I posted in the thread earlier was played with the exception of Putting Holes in Happiness. I would say it's safe to say it was left out due to the late start. Just a Car Crash Away wasn't even on the setlist, so the reasoning for it being left off, I am not sure(possibly to allow room for Irresponsible Hate Anthem)
Still, this was the best show of the tour, in my opinion...and I saw 6 shows.

Kinda shitty, but thanks. It definitely sounded amazing, despite being shorter. Which makes me so happy to know the whole band sounds so great. And also, I would believe you about it being the best show of the tour, but I can't believe any show could have topped the Toronto show! 'Cause they sounded amazing and added a song there!

Very true. But just because a song was added doesnt meant mean it was better. :) From what I've read and heard, that Toronto show was pretty bad ass! :)

Disappointed he didn't play IHA earlier on the tour though it was still an amazing show that I went to, but all this does is get me excited for the next time he comes around. ENTIRE SHOW?
FUCK YES!
Well, not quite...not yet at least.
I suffered from what I'll forgivingly refer to as technical difficulties and couldn't record the last three songs ("The Reflecting God," "Antichrist Superstar," and "The Beautiful People").
Which was cool...that meant I was able to partially fulfill my duties as a live concert historical documentarian AND I still got to rock the fuck out for the end of the final show.
So, it looks like my fellow MansonUSA compatriots were able to capture two of the three songs I missed when I dropped the ball...but it appears that we're still missin' "The Beautiful People." Unless someone steps forward with that particular song from that particular show.
Still, we've done pretty well, I'd say.
:)
Oh...I can't believe no one here has mentioned Manson's coolest little "speech" from the San Antonio show. Did no one else hear it or understand what he was saying?
It was clear as a bell from where I was standing (in the pit).
Manson let us in on a heretofore untold bit of personal history...which happened to help bookend the tour in quite intimate manner. I now feel that much closer to the man.
In the middle of the "Sweet Dreams..."/"Lunchbox" medley, right at the start of the "Lunchbox" portion, Manson threw in this li'l tidbit:
"San Antonio, I don't know if you know this, but I was conceived here! That means my mom and my dad fucked in San Antonio!!"
So, there we have it...the tour began in the state in which Marilyn Manson was born, and it ended in the city where he was conceived.
So glad I could be there for both!!

being conceived and being born are two completely different things. conceived is when the sperm fertilizes the egg.

Ya Haz never stated that they were the same. He stated that the tour started where MM was born, and ended where MM was concieved. Meaning that within the 9 months, his parents moved. But here is the real kicker, Haz is obviously too rushed or not thinking straight, and I now must correct him.
Haz, unless I am wrong, EMDM North American Tour began in West Palm Beach, Florida. Manson was born in Canton, Ohio, but moved to Florida when he was a teenager. Now, thinking about this I thought, well maybe Haz meant when the tour started for his big road trip, but I did research and noticed that you were indeed at the Florida show.
So, I am sorry for correcting you, but in all fairness, it is important I guess to get all the facts straightened out. But I did not know about MM being concieved in Texas, which I guess is a cool fact, so thank you.

Please note the careful use of italics in the original post if you doubt my meaning...plus, also make note of my caution when referring to the state of Marilyn Manson's "birth," since he wasn't "born" in West Palm Beach.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...I thought of that before I posted it, too, but sometimes you have to squeeze through the stickey wickets the best you can and just post the damned thing, y'know?
But don't get me wrong...I still like being held to a higher standard. Keeps me on my toes, and all that.
:)
And, even so, upon careful re-reading, one might notice that I refer to the aforementioned italicized "Marilyn Manson" (i.e. the band/persona) as having been "born" in Florida, while it was the singular "he" which I referred to as having been conceived in Texas. At least I tried, damnit.
;)
But, yes. The band was conceived in Florida. ;)
Yup, two different definitions of "Marilyn Manson," and two different definitions of "conception." This does get a bit tricky, doesn't it?
Goddamn technicalities with you, ffs ;)~
Oh, sure...now you're bothered by technicalities.
:P
For that matter, I suppose we could throw in New York City, too...since that was where Marilyn Manson was "born" -- in the sense that it was in the Big Apple that was finally able to write a song which fully encompassed what he was trying to say as "Marilyn Manson."
But why overcomplicate things, right?
;)

Thanks...after returning "home" to the messy, dysfunctional, interpersonal-relations-nightmare that I left behind a month-and-a-half ago (or so I thought), it's nice to at least be able to come here and still feel appreciated.
In the words of a fellow, much-beleagured Chicagoan also currently sorting through some of his own "relationship issues," "Lord, I Need a Hug."

:(
I just wish I wouldn't have fucked up the recording of the final show like I did...goddamned "technical difficulties." Oh well, another lesson learned. This vid-newb should have his shit together by the time the headlining tour comes around, at least.
But, yeah, what I have is beautiful...and I'm sure whatever the other guys shot is great, too. We should be able to cobble together something quite decent.
But...still no San Antonian performance of "The Beautiful People," eh?
