SLAYER and MARILYN MANSON have announced that they will co-headline a North American major-market summer tour beginning on July 25 on the East Coast. Plans are for the tour to play some twenty-five cities and wrap up early September on the West Coast. So far the following dates have been leaked:
Aug. 05 - Holmdel, NJ @ PNC Bank Arts Center
Aug. 31 - Houston, TX @ Reliant Arena
Plans are for the tour to play some twenty-five cities and wrap up early September on the West Coast. A full, confirmed schedule will be announced shortly.
MANSON and SLAYER will each play full sets, and two support bands, yet to be determined, will open all shows.
Just prior to the American trek, both MANSON and SLAYER will be on tour throughout Europe, sharing the stage at three European festivals the U.K.'s Download Festival at Donington (June 9), Greenfield Festival in Switzerland (June 15), and Sweden's Metaltown Festival (June 30).
MARILYN MANSON recently wrapped up work on his upcoming June 5 release to be titled, "Eat Me, Drink Me", which Rolling Stone magazine describes as "epic." Voted "Best Band in the World" by Kerrang! magazine, the army of noise behind Manson's bitterness is at once raw and massive when witnessing him live "rousing the crowd with focuses ardor," states the New York Times.
Celebrating their 26th year together, the always-uncompromising SLAYER was named "Best Live Band" in SPIN's 2006 Readers Poll, and picked up their first Grammy Award in February for "Best Metal Performance." Their latest album, "Christ Illusion" which debuted at #5 on Billboard's album chart takes on the U.S. government about the war in Iraq, prompting one newspaper to speculate, "If Thomas Jefferson were alive today, he undoubtedly would be listening to SLAYER."

They are not coming to Sweden (Slayer is but not manson) :/ Metaltown has posted it on their site long ago, got my hopes up when i first saw that they would be in sweden but well some days after that they decided to put it up on their site saying manson will not come on june 30th since there was to many asking if he was or not.

eh I'm not much of a Slayer fan so I wouldnt mind leaving after Mansons set if he went first...but manson disserves to headline over them...besides co-headlining usually means that they might rotate every night.

I can deal with opening bands. But I will not be crushed through Slayer, I'm way too small, and people beat the shit out of me at concerts, I like to be in the front so I live with it. But I would rather not have to stand through a Slayer pit.

I'm small as well, but I love getting fucked up in pits. As a chick though sometimes they'll take it easy (gay) but since it's gonna be my first manson show I'll probably be up in the front.

it's impossible to get good seats for the pnc arts center, b/c they reserve them for season tix holders and every promo under the sun.
i used to work for ticketmaster and if i pulled one good pair of seats for that place it would be a miracle.

I'm starting to think that Manson might not make it to the west coast alive (not literally) I've heard that Slayers fans abuse the opening bands because they want Slayer...I was told that Slipknot, Mastodon, and Lamb of God were all abused at every show by Slayers fans....I mean when a band like Lamb of God gets abused that really says something...Lamb of Gods fans are for the most part huge empty headed retards that just want to mosh (ive been in that crowd before) and if Slayers fans are worst....I can only imagine what's going to happen to Manson primarily "mall goth" fan base...and not too mention what a bad time Manson might have....I hope he doesnt quit the tour...=[

That would be funny to hear him quit a tour. Especially after what happened with Hole in '99. If these bands are ridiculed by the audience, MM better be ready after releasing pop songs like heart shaped glasses.

My radio station here in W.V. just announced a MAJOR concert event in the summer. They gave a hint saying they came here about 6 years ago, and said they'd be back. Being no one hardly comes here. The only major show that was in town back in 2001 was "Reinventing the Steel" tour with Slayer and Pantera. So hopefully it is Slayer and Manson. I won't know who it is until Tommorow. I am fucking putting up all of my hopes on this one.

There's no "usually" to it. They've only played each of those two venues once, and they were both the first times he'd played either.
Also, just for the record, yes, Pop's is way too small for Manson these days. That's why they played in the gigantic fucking parking lot outside of Pop's, not Pop's itself.
It was actually really fucking cool. That parking lot is really just the common ground surrounded by several strip clubs. Seeing a Grotesk Burlesk show there was fucking perfect. Lost a bunch of singles at the "Heavy Petting Zoo," damnit.

Sweet, I'll keep my eyes open for it. The only King album I have is Abagail. But I got a really good deal on Mercyful Fate's Melissa, Don't Break the Oath, and Return of the Vampire. King rocks.

I'm hoping he'll come to Milwaukee around that time too... Here's the rest of the post I didn't put up:
Tour dates for this summer's match made in Heaven...or Hell...are announced today. MARILYN MANSON and SLAYER's 25-city co-headline North American tour will kick off on July 25 in West Palm Beach, FL, pillaging its way cross-country to wrap up in San Antonio, TX on September 1. Confirmed dates are below.
For this two-pronged-threat double bill, SLAYER and MANSON will each play full sets with BLEEDING THROUGH and one other support band, yet to be determined, opening all shows.
MARILYN MANSON just wrapped up work on his upcoming June release to be titled "Eat Me, Drink Me", which Rolling Stone magazine anticipates as "epic." Voted "Best Band in the World" by Kerrang! magazine, the army of noise behind MANSON's bitterness is at once raw and massive when witnessing him live "rousing the crowd with focused ardor," states the New York Times.
