Without me having to suck cock, take it up the ass , use my cunning wit to trick bouncers that I am in one of the bands, or kidnap a hot girl and force her to be my girlfriend for 5 minutes or so to get backstage. How are they attained? Money wise, connection wise?

You must have an inside connection to the venue. My buddy and I got backstage to a couple of shows, and one of them was Sounds of the Underground here in Los Angeles. He gave us pit and backstage. Great times. Free beer by all.

Manson shows? If so, cool, you are my new best friend. I mean I have gotten back once, at Manson. I get back at almost any show. But I'd rather know I am going to ahead of time. Fuck it, it was a dumb question.

No, not Manson shows. If you read, it was a couple of shows last year. :P
We did meet some cool people though. One of them was Avenged Sevenfold. We didn't go for them, we went for Bullets and Octane, and as soon as they got off stage, we were backstage during the entire CKY and Avenged Sevenfold set.
That night, we met Gene Louis and Adrian 7 of Powerman 5000.
Ginger Fish does know me pretty well though. :)

Meh, it's early. That is what I meant as well. I get back at any show in the town I live in. Manson only once. I've gotten to hang out within the last year or so with Wednesday 13 (the whole band), Dog Fashion Disco, Psychostick, CKY, Don Vito, Ryan Dunn and Bam. Hopefully Manson and Slayer come to my town. Slayer has been here a couple times before, and I know they said they will come back on their next tour. So hopefully this is the one they return with. I remember talking to Tripp, and Tony Campos from Static - X and Kerry King who was in a Wendys the day of the show, and they said they'd definatly return. So hopefully I won't have to save up an assload of money to bribe some poor security gaurd with. They'll just come, and I will just ask my buds at the arena to get me back. Simple when you live in a small town and everyone knows you.

It is simple when you live in a small town, I give you that, but it's much fun when you know the people that live around Los Angeles due to the fact that you can easily spot them, and sometimes they will remember you. Jason of Godhead and I are cool. He actually came up to me after a show and started talking to me. My bud and I were in a Bullets and Octane video, and like I said, Ginger and I are cool too, and I've run into Eric Griffin countless of times. It's more of a . . . ladder thing here. Yeah, it's easier in a small town, but it's much more fun trying to climb that ladder of . . . I guess you can say "popularity."

It really should be easier than that to get backstage to Powerman 5000, or even hang out with the band. They always talk to the crowd afterwards, mostly due to them playing in clubs and not such huge theaters or arenas.

I'm snickering at the thought of getting friendly with the bouncers at Wolves Civic. They look like cardboard cutouts. I've never seen such immobile bouncers. They don't have feelings, I'm sure of it.

Anyways, I've never been backstage, at least not at rock concerts. I doubt I ever will because I don't display a lot of cleavage.

There's actually no real big deal about being backstage. Some areas are still off limits. Yes, it's cool to see a face or two, or three, but that's what you're mostly get. If, and only if, the singer remembers your face, then you'll probably get lucky enough to go party with the entire band. I didn't meet Avenged Sevenfold, or even any of the bands at Sounds of the Underground. Just one or two people. Paul, drummer of Cannibal Corpse, and the fat singer from The Black Dahlia Murder.

I wanted to see Wednesday 13 to get an autograph for a friend's birthday when we saw him, but apart from that I wasn't really too fussed. I kind of assume all the ass-kissing groupies, who are desperate to get backstage because somehow it'll make their existence more bearable, are bitched about by the bands anyway, and I imagine it to be hard not to come across as desperate in the act of trying to get backstage. If there was a way to do it calmly, I'd go for it because it'd probably be one hell of a party spent with interesting people (as opposed to the complete lack of interesting people where I live)... but as of right now, I don't really know how. Heh, hence me going into this thread to see how others do it :)

I'm calm about it. If you're calm, and treat them like real people, then they'll remember you. Jason, Ginger Fish, and Bullets and Octane are all cool with me because I talk to them as a person, not as some insane fan. Eric Griffin is kind of a dick to me for some reason, but that's probably because he sees me as a threat to his friendship with someone that I know as well. I'm not spreading anything, I'm just . . . guessing to why he's been kind of cold to me.

They're really good live. A lot of energy, great sound. Only problem was that they shoudl've been in a better venue that night here in Los Angeles. The club was small. I kind of don't remember much, but Action, Nobody's Real, and Drop the Bombsell were the best songs of the night. I didn't go to any of their shows this year due to me not liking their newest single.

Yeah that's how I'd approach it. I just don't really know where to start because in order for me to put myself in the position to begin conversation, it seems like I have to throw myself at some bouncer first, and that falls into desperate groupie behaviour. So... I guess I gotta find a job as coffee-boy at a concert hall or something *lol*

That's the beauty of living in Los Angeles. I saw Ginger at a show recently out of the corner of my eye, casually went up to him, and just started a conversation. I mean, there's nothing really stressful about talking to a regular person. It is hard when they are stuck up, and that's when you say fuck it, I won't talk to you. Come to Los Angeles, I'll show you around . . . but you're underage, aren't you?

Hehe, no, I'm 20. But I'm also in England. Thanks for the offer though, I'll take it up if I ever come to L.A. again. Probably not before I finish my studies next year.

Ah, of course. Well, by the time I make it to L.A. I'll be over 21. ;) Until then... I really gotta make it to more concerts. My May is fully planned with college stuffs, as is the start of June, which kills Download and Rock am Ring for me. Hopefully in later June, July and August.. I'm really hoping for a Manson concert. Not that I expect for one moment to get backstage there.

I know that women/men have gotten in after the show (BEFORE- everyone with passes ) by walking up to the security dude at the backstage entry gate, or whatever it is, By being completely naked under a long coat or jacket, he looks at you after you get really close and open your jacket, for about 10 seconds and then says " Go Ahead "
I have seen a line of about 5 -10 women in a row do this. We were alittle upset. The Only thing I could think of was possibly they were strippers asked to arrive at a specific time and all came in together.

when it comes to my experiences, it seems that it is rather the girls who get backstage and even if there are boys too, they might not get to see Manson or talk to him cause he might be in his dressing room and not show up. The easiest thing is to know him, someone close to him, .. or at least a pretty girl that might get access.
I think you'll need some luck to get close to him.

At the Hummingbird Centre show, someone gave an aftershow pass to a transexual girl thinking she was an actual girl. So you might want to start taking female hormones or something!

Well, talking backstage and what not. Tomorrow I'll be going to KROQ's WEENIE ROAST. I got PIT tickets and VIP PARTY PASSES. My sister won them on the radio. I don't know how the VIP PARTY thing will work, or if it's just another name for...backstage passes. Several people have said that backstage passes isn't much though, because you can be backstage but the bands may ignore you completely.

So, with that said, I
m hoping VIP PARTY PASSES means a much better experience.

I live in LOS ANGELES, but still don't know the shortcuts to backstage and such things :|

It means you'll have some free food and drinks and a better view of the stage.

On most tours VIP passes do not get you anywhere unless you are escorted by some with a laminate and escort priviledges.

when you're back there, are they anal about cameras?

At kroq.com they say you can't take any audio/video recording devices....but that doesn't exclude photo cameras.

So, assuming I'm able to sneak the son ' bitch in, and go to the VIP PARTY, which will only be open for certain hours.....would certain bands be open to taking pics?....or will I be chased by VENUE workers?

Depends on the band, depends on the show. A lot of bands take issue with cameras backstage but who knows, depends on the person, depends on the mood they are in. That and it is a festival, so if in the rare chance you find any of the bands at the VIP area, they aren't playing by their own rules but rather the festivals, so if KROQ allows cameras, you should be fine.

I know when I have gone to concerts before, you get hand picked by someone. Then you get backstage. I got backstage at a concert in Los Angeles. After I got there, everyone was out just drinking and talking. Manson did not make an appearance. I didn't want to make a scene so I tried to play it cool like I did it all the time. Ginger Fish was there. I couldn't believe how short the band members that I saw were. I am 5' 9'' and I towered over them. This was when Chris Vrenna was playing. I have a pic of us. Although I look retarded in it. I didn't get to bring my camera into the aftershow party. I really hope I get to meet Manson this time.
