Shattered Dream 03-07-2007, 05:14 PM I didn't go to the tour, but I want to know what band opened for Manson during the GAOTG Tour? And were they any good? S.T.U.N. and no. They did this horrible noise rendition of "Another Brick in the Wall." They failed miserably. Norsefire 03-07-2007, 05:26 PM I didn't go to the tour, but I want to know what band opened for Manson during the GAOTG Tour? And were they any good? I know that some woman opened, but I cant remember what she was called, I saw a programme on tv and it was her talking about doing the opening for manson on his tour. Im sure it will come to me soon. gothrose 03-07-2007, 05:28 PM I know that some woman opened, but I cant remember what she was called, I saw a programme on tv and it was her talking about doing the opening for manson on his tour. Im sure it will come to me soon. Her name was Peaches. And she was horrible, horrible, horrible. Norsefire 03-07-2007, 05:29 PM Her name was Peaches. And she was horrible, horrible, horrible. lol it just came to me aswell. Yeah she was a twat and a horrible singer on the clips they showed. Shattered Dream 03-07-2007, 05:31 PM Nobody else got S.T.U.N. as their opening band? j_absinthe 03-07-2007, 05:35 PM Her name was Peaches. And she was horrible, horrible, horrible. LIES! SLANDER! Your Europeans didn't deserve her greatness! You bitches deserved S.T.U.N.! Peaches is too cool for you fools. Hey Shattered, I went to the Chicago date and had to endure S.T.U.N. as well. Apparently Alicia Silverstone is/was dating the lead singer, and was on Ellen talking about S.T.U.N. (she called them "loud, fun punk rock") and talked about the Manson tour. This will make sure that no one else would buy the craptacular sounds of all opening bands. Nosferatu 03-07-2007, 05:49 PM Peaches is a goddess. her brilliance was just too much for y'all hataz'!!!! Stephen Bitch 03-07-2007, 05:55 PM I saw Manson supported by Peaches and Queen Adreena on that tour. Queen Adreena were brilliant. Peaches...well, she sucked. Panzer 03-07-2007, 06:38 PM I thought Peaches sucked ass when i saw her open for Manson back in 2003, and so did the rest of the 8 thousand of fans in the arena. Man.... she got spit at and taunted like hell :P. But now when i look back at it, she was pretty kick ass. j_absinthe 03-07-2007, 06:47 PM nMc0Jr7wUmg Rock n roll at it's most debauched and powerful! Well, not really, but pretty damn good I say! Shattered Dream 03-07-2007, 06:54 PM nMc0Jr7wUmg Rock n roll at it's most debauched and powerful! Well, not really, but pretty damn good I say! Wasn't this posted some where already? Also, did you get Slunt on leg of the AAG Tour? illminded_child 03-07-2007, 06:57 PM we got mandy kane for ours, he wasnt extremely impressive, too poppy for an opening act to manson... plus everyone was anticipating jerk for the opening, as they did the openings to other states in oz... was a pity really j_absinthe 03-07-2007, 06:59 PM Wasn't this posted some where already? Also, did you get Slunt on leg of the AAG Tour?Yes. Probably by me. ^_^ Slunt didn't become the official support until like halfway through AAG. I attended the St. Louis show and got some shitty local rock band. Something with 'Neptune' in the title possibly. I don't remember them at all except that they sucked. mexicanfiend 03-07-2007, 07:12 PM In the 2003 México City concert and in Monterrey as well, the openers were Apocalyptica and Mudvayne. Shattered Dream 03-07-2007, 07:15 PM In the 2003 México City concert and in Monterrey as well, the openers were Apocalyptica and Mudvayne. Mudvayne? Interesting. That must've been a mosh heavy show. mexicanfiend 03-07-2007, 07:20 PM Mudvayne? Interesting. That must've been a mosh heavy show. I didn't go to that one because I suffered a knee injury a week before:'( but, from what my friends that went told me, it was a great concert... the only bad thing is that Manson played before Korn that day. Anyway, all the press the day later mentioned that MM was THE show. Shattered Dream 03-07-2007, 07:23 PM I didn't go to that one because I suffered a knee injury a week before:'( but, from what my friends that went told me, it was a great concert... the only bad thing is that Manson played before Korn that day. Anyway, all the press the day later mentioned that MM was THE show. That actually sounds like Ozzfest 03 . . . mexicanfiend 03-07-2007, 07:25 PM Not really. It was Korn's concert with Marilyn Manson announced as "special act" and Apocalyptica and Mudvayne as openers. That was in México city, in Monterrey, 2 days before, Korn didn't play. And how I wish that Ozzfest 2001 would had passed by here!!!! Shattered Dream 03-07-2007, 07:29 PM Funny thing is is that I saw Korn w/ Mudvayne last Feb. It was a really good show, and the Mudvayne pit was fuckin' brutal. When Korn came on, everyone, and I mean everyone, pushed forward, and it was just a big sea of people moving and staggering back and forth. I'm not much of a big festival person until recently. Only because of the drinking before hand that can get done in the lot. I went to Ozzfest '05, and of course, Mudvayne was a part of that too, and Family Values, which was hosted by Korn. mexicanfiend 03-07-2007, 07:32 PM That sounds cool!!! the other festival that I went to was in 2004, in which Puya, Sparta, Ill Niño, Ministry, Deftones and Korn (in that order) played. The most memorable moment? Jonathan Davis talking about the end of old fights with Chino, then Chino appears onstage to sing "Wicked" together. T0msawyer 03-07-2007, 07:39 PM Hey this is sort of a stupid question but i've heard that MSI opened for manson on one tour, is that true? just thought this would be the right thread to ask in. Oh and peaches kicks ass, die, haters, die. Shattered Dream 03-07-2007, 07:40 PM The guy from Filter, in which I forgot the name, came out and did "Hey Man Nice Shot" with Korn, and Chino came out and did a song with Korn as well, but I don't remember since I plastered. Korn is a very good live band. and I doubted them in the past due to Untouchables and Take A Look in the Mirror, but they can sure bring the house down. koolboee cdmo87 03-07-2007, 08:21 PM When it comes to Slunt, I remember their lead singer is a former MTV VJ. She and the female bassist did a lot of lesbian antics. I remember nothing of their music! mexicanfiend 03-07-2007, 08:41 PM The guy from Filter, in which I forgot the name, came out and did "Hey Man Nice Shot" with Korn, and Chino came out and did a song with Korn as well, but I don't remember since I plastered. I basically stopped putting attention to Korn after Head left the band. Nil Three 03-07-2007, 08:45 PM When it comes to Slunt, I remember their lead singer is a former MTV VJ. Nice guys, grabbed a bite to eat with them a few times and all really good people. The music I can go either way on. Wasnot a good idea for a Manson audience. j_absinthe 03-07-2007, 11:36 PM They are married. Nice guys, grabbed a bite to eat with them a few times and all really good people. I will give it up to the frontman, he caught a bottle of water that was launched at him from about 15 feet away, drank out of it, and launched it back. He got a mental +1 but they just weren't right for that event. DecayingSinner 03-07-2007, 11:48 PM When it comes to Slunt, I remember their lead singer is a former MTV VJ. She and the female bassist did a lot of lesbian antics. I remember nothing of their music! I only know they covered Nirvana's "Aneurysm". I hated watching her on MTV 2. She seemed so fake. Their set was barely tolerable. crack_nation 03-07-2007, 11:55 PM I will give it up to the frontman, he caught a bottle of water that was launched at him from about 15 feet away, drank out of it, and launched it back. He got a mental +1 but they just weren't right for that event. Yeah, he is a crazy guy live. I caught one of their off dates shortly after the GAOG run when they had a night off from the Chevelle/Vendetta Red tour in a small club setting and it was an even crazier show. It certainly wasn't for lack of stage prescence or high energy live shows. The music was probably hard to swallow for most MTV kiddies, and probably didn't help that no real touring was going on to promote the album. The only tour they half way fit on was Warped Tour and playing with dozen and dozens of bands that are all on at the same time isn't exactly beneficial to most. I remember talking with them and just being like "Manson, Chevelle, Vendetta Red.. can't help to not think it's an uphill battle". It's was a punk band trying to be marketed as a rock band. GunsOfBrixton 03-08-2007, 12:08 AM They are married. Nice guys, grabbed a bite to eat with them a few times and all really good people. The music I can go either way on. Wasnot a good idea for a Manson audience. I liked STUN. Not crazy about them, but the singer and the rest of the band deserve credit as an opening act who stayed true to their style and didn't pander to a bunch of cocksuck Mansonites. They worked the crowd pretty well, got a ton of hate, and therefore succeeded. The singer had 'Art Fag' scrawled across his shirt, which I thought was pretty funny. Perhaps he was serious, perhaps joking, but it was funny either way. Saw the guitarist walking around for outside twenty minutes before they went on, was talking to fans, etc. Seemed like decent enough guys. I also saw them open up for The Vines in 2004 I believe, and they put on a decent show then as well. It wasn't really that hard to top The Vines, since Craig Nicholls was completely fucked out of his head. koolboee cdmo87 03-08-2007, 12:49 AM Slunt opened for the AAG tour, not Golden Age. Yes I know... someone had mentioned them earlier in the thread, I was merely embellishing. gothrose 03-08-2007, 07:44 AM I thought Peaches sucked ass when i saw her open for Manson back in 2003, and so did the rest of the 8 thousand of fans in the arena. Man.... she got spit at and taunted like hell :P. But now when i look back at it, she was pretty kick ass. I was on some concerts of the tour 2003 and believe me not only you 8.000 hated her at the conerts. In Berlin the "booooooooh"-screams were louder than her music lol. When I was at the Hamburg-concert I thought my lungs would explode because she used way too much bass and a girl next to me had to be brought to the hospital because she couldn't breathe anymore 0.o I don't know, I still don't like her .. maybe I would have come to like her if I my first experience with her wouldn't have been at the Hamburg-concert. Drasinnja 03-08-2007, 10:02 AM When I went to see Manson in 2003, it was Queen Adreena. Nice performance. We had S.T.U.N. in San Francisco as well. I thought they were alright. I couldn't see myself buying their CD, but they were fine live. I think that was on GAOG, at least. For AAG, I think we had AC D-She, which is an all female AC DC tribute band. And, though I totally wasn't expecting it, I really enjoyed seeing Peaches with Bauhaus and NIN. She was great! And, though I totally wasn't expecting it, I really enjoyed seeing Peaches with Bauhaus and NIN. She was great! I heard about AC/DShee being the opening band in San Francisco for AAG. That was only the second, or should I say third due to the special event KROQ had in Long Beach, stop on the tour, which was actually Halloween Night in 2004. How were they? Also, for NIN, I saw Queens of the Stone Age, and I was pleasantly surprised by them. I didn't see the first opening band for NIN though. Pump that bass :P Felt like my ribcage would shatter. _oswald 03-08-2007, 04:44 PM We had S.T.U.N. in San Francisco as well. I thought they were alright. I couldn't disagree more. They way the massacred 'Another Brick in the Wall' when they opened for Manson here in Minneapolis was unforgivable, at best. One of the worst bands I've ever seen. With HIM being a close second. j_absinthe 03-08-2007, 06:32 PM Close, but SEXY second. Right, _os? Shattered Dream 03-08-2007, 08:29 PM When it comes to Slunt, I remember their lead singer is a former MTV VJ. She and the female bassist did a lot of lesbian antics. I remember nothing of their music! Yes, and I remember as well, which made their set interestling actually. The bassist and singer were pretty do-able. I went to two of the three nights here in Los Angeles, so it was pretty fun to watch the singer fake orgasm while the bassist strummed her guitar like if it was the singer's clit. _oswald 03-09-2007, 12:06 AM Close, but SEXY second. Right, _os? No. I don't particularily care for the archtype 'lanky, suffering heroin addict' look much m'self. Cheryl 03-09-2007, 06:33 PM I did. Minneapolis. It was packed on the floor. You couldn't concentrate on the band. There are alot of people who are just pissed off that there is opening act. So there's alot of just bitching and screaming going on. Marilyn was excellent of course. I couldn't believe all the peeps who got over the barrier and some on stage. It was like a line for the pisser but faster. |
