View Full Version : Allowing "Scripted Windows?"

Okay, I'm stuck using my roommate's computer, and all she has for a web browser is Internet Explorer. She won't allow me to install or customize anything.

I've just begun having issues with posting here, however, so I need some help with unnoticeably and unobtrusively unfucking whatever the hell she's done.

Every fucking time I try to type something on the 'Phant in boldface, italics, custom sizes, weblinks, etc, I get some hassle about this website trying to get me to enter info in a pop-up.

Each time, I have to "temporarily allow scripted windows" and try again. Then I go to another thread and have to "temporarily allow scripted windows" again.

I can't fucking take it ANY MORE.

Please, help.

I guess you should just write out the [b] and /b] thing by hand.

NO.

It's bad enough that I'm expected to constantly shift my right hand from mouse to keyboard and back, but I'd just started getting used to it when this shit started happening.

I will NOT re-train myself to waste precious keystrokes, thank you very much.

P.S. My roomie knows next to nothing about computers, hence her technophobic computer usage rules, so I'm almost sure this wasn't done by her. It almost HAD to be part of her latest IE update. Am I the only IE user on the 'Phant who has begun experiencing this?

Well, I've been using my roommate's computer for over a year now, and this has only started happening in the last couple of days...which leads me to believe that there must be a way to disable this bullshit.

Hopefully we'll both learn how to get around this inconvenience soon.

Tools>Pop-Up Blocker>Turn Off Pop-Up Blocker

See if that works.
