Meeting Phant' members at shows.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I was too excited.

So, if Manson does release his album this spring, then that means a summer/fall tour! I for one can't say that i've ever met a Phant' member at a show. So how does that usually work out? Do you plan ahead to meet them or do you just stumble upon them?

I know a lot of you are from the midwest (like me), so Chicago, St. Louis and perhaps Kansas City should have a large group. I think it would be really fun to (once tour dates are released) create a stickied thread for everyone to post their concert attendance dates so we can plan accordingly.

Also, if there are people who need rides I would gladly pick somebody up if they were on my way. As would several other people.

So yeah, I guess my question is "how does this normally go down?" Do you create a meeting point for members at the venue or what?

Tell me your experiences and how you went about this.

Mechantichrist & I met when we went to the Toronto show of Against All Gods. I just looked through the line till I saw him. We didn't really talk too much, more of just a hello & stuff, but it was still pretty neat. We had talked for months beforehand.

I'm definently going to a chicago set, if he plays St Louis ill be there as well.

KC I don't know for sure. It will depend on if I can afford it, and since the last Manson show I attended there was such a disaster I may very well avoid it.

Closest was I saw him rip up a bible during Antichrist Superstar. I will be going to the Milwaukee/Chicago shows, so hopefully m_absinthe, Hazekiah, and whoever else would like to meet up and get bloody. Might be a small, smalllll chance I would go to Denver since my bro just moved out there, but doubt it. However, for you phants in Denver, you guys should go and see Helnwein lecture at the Denver Art Museum on Dec. 11, 2007. That, I can assure you, I will be attending.

I believe its only $12 or so, but the plane ticket will be over $200 which is kind of a bummer. I was at the Denver Art Museum a few weeks ago, and thought it was a really impressive place. Well, if you end up at the lecture, I'll see you there. As far as the MM show, there is probably not a chance in hell I could swing Milwaukee/Chicago and Denver. I kinda prefer Midwestern shows anyway.

Over on the Depeche Mode board, when the dates for the last tour were announced, the mod set up threads for every show--it saved a lot of time and confusion. Great place to get information if you're an out of towner and need to ask locals about decent hotels, directions, etc.

We ended up travelling to the Atlanta and Washington, DC (2x) shows and another girl going to both as well set up a separate yahoo group to coordinate places, times, etc. for a meet-up. There was about 20 of us who met at a restaraunt before the first DC show and probably 30 of us who met at a hotel before the second show and then did the tailgate thing in the parking lot of the pavillion. It was very, very cool; people from Boston, LA, Miami, St. Louis, Atlanta, even England. Also, the threads were a great place to keep up with photos, vids, etc. posted after the show.

BTW, not having ever been to a Manson show (I know, I know), what is the usual camera policy? DM are cool about it. They didn't even check my purse. But then I've been to others where 12" chains are confiscated and every square inch of your person is frisked/felt up. What's next? Cavity searches?
