In the past few days i've gotten a "Forbidden" page.

I click on any link and it says it's forbidden. A few minutes later it's back to normal. Any reason for this?

I had the same thing, except only yesterday. Made me so paranoid because I thought my office had blocked the Phant and I was busted. You've relaxed me. Thanks. :)

Ok, well I'm glad it's not just me.

I've been getting this more and more often lately. Its starting to piss me off because it happens all the time:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /council/forumdisplay.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I'm getting constantly too now and when it happens the refresh doesn't always work. Really hope this will be fixed soon.

Hmm.
I've been talk to Alex about this alot lately. He says he gets it from time to time without warning and using different web browsers.

OK. I think I've found the problem. There is an Apache Module called "DosEvasive" that is designed to reject traffic if there are a great number of hits in a very short amount of time (to stop Denial of Service attacks). It is an outdated module as the software is much better at handling these attacks on its own... also, as you can see, it was taking legit traffic and assuming it was bad.

That would make sense, as I'm sure the errors occur most often when there is alot of activity here.

The module has been disabled. Please report here if you see anymore of the 403 Forbidden errors.

Thanks!
Marc

Caught me before the edit!
Thanks for the trace. For awhile I thought it was a routing issue somewhere, but I found more information that proves otherwise.

Your trace looks fine to me... and I understand about the IP deal, I just needed it if I needed to cross-reference the log files.

Thanks!
