I wanna get all the Thundercats seasons first before I consider getting the MOTU ones. I just like Thundercat's cartoon and toys more, even though I would say MOTU was a bigger part of my childhood. I wish they'd re-issue the original Thundercats toys in the same way they re-issued the old MOTU toys in 2000 and 2001. It was cool how they put the toy in it's original packaging, packaged inside new collector's packaging.

I've bought a few recently...

Fight Club, Office Space, Crybaby, The Rundown, Batman Begins, Corpse Bride, and a whole bunch I forgot. I just know that my dvd pile is huge compared to a few months ago, and I don't even know how it got that way.

And I'll be buying the Kill Bills later this week or next, if I can afford to with all the bills I have piling in this month. :'(

First broadcast on TV Tokyo in 1995, Neon Genesis Evangelion marks a watershed in the history of anime. Not only did Eva raise the bar for mecha anime visually, with its innovative designs and rich animation, but the series explored an array of biological, military, religious, and philosophical concepts in a unique and thoughtful way. Through the course of 26 episodes, what begins as a regular (if exceptionally beautiful) giant robot show soon becomes a metaphorical journey into modern psychoanalytic theory.

Produced by the acclaimed studio Gainax, Neon Genesis Evangelion’s trailblazing blend of action and philosophy immediately elevated it above the pack and accounts for its enduring popularity. The series, which originally aired in Japan from 1995 to 1996, has exerted a strong influence on anime ever since.

Synopsis: At the turn of the century, the Angels returned to Earth, seeking to wipe out humanity in an apocalyptic fury. Devastated, mankind’s last remnants moved underground to wait for the day when the Angels would come back to finish the job. Fifteen years later, that day has come… but this time, humanity is ready to fight back with terrifying bio-mechanical weapons known as the Evangelions. Now it’s up to Shinji, Rei, Asuka and the rest of the mysterious shadow agency NERV to save Earth from total annihilation!

A DVD-only release including all 26 episodes plus four Directors’ Cut episodes presented in both English 5.1 and Japanese 5.1 with English subtitles.

RUNNING TIME: APPROX. 750 MINS; RATING: TV 14; VIDEO FORMAT: DVD Region 1; AUDIO FORMAT: English 5.1, Japanese 5.1; SUBTITLES: English

Just bought some today, here's the sum of all:

Humphrey Bogart Collection (http://click77.altervista.org/bogartfra/4.JPG) - Sorry about the french cover, but it was the only picture I could find that had the right cover (picture wise, I can't be bothered to take a picture myself). It contains 6 DVDs, with Casablanca being one of them.

Oldboy 2 Disc Limited Edition (http://images.webhallen.com/boxshot.php?id=54511&typ=large) (steel case) - Obviously, I had to get this movie and what better way to do that (aside from the extremely limited hand made metal box with stuff), than a 2 disc edition with a snazzy steel case.

David Bowie: A Reality Tour (http://www.rockobrobje.com/bowie_r3.jpg) - While not a movie, it's still a dvd. I've been wanting this for some time and I figured that while I was still buying some movies, I might as well put this one on the pile as well. It came out being $10 cheaper than the pricetag said too, so that was nice.

Predator (http://www.technofile.com/images/predator.jpg) - Cant buy movies without getting at least one Schwarzenegger movie. I'm running out of ones to buy though, I'm getting close to owning all of his classic action films.

Today I bought more, all for under ten bucks. I win.

Die Hard (<3 Bruce Willis!!! <3!!)

The Transporter (I haven't seen it, but I loves me my Jason Statham).

American Beauty

The Haunting (<3)

Ghost Ship. (It was five bucks, and it wasn't a terrible movie last time I saw it, so why the fuck not?)

I saw this movie once, a long time ago, but I hadn't seen the series at the time so it made no fucking sense. Watching it again after watching the whole series, I've got to say that it is just about the most depressing thing in existence.

EDIT: I should add that aside from a few moments where it gets too artsy, it is a spectacular conclusion to the series and is absolutely beautiful.

I watched Last House on the Left last night. It was fucking terrible, and I dont mean in a good way either. The only part I found amusing was when some guy got his cock bitten off. Aside from that its a piss poor excuse for a horror film.

Sweeeeet!!!!!!!!! So did I. They were selling it with Constantine for the same price as on it's own... but I was like, "pffft - what a waste of no money at all" and bought it by itself. Already watched it, too, though there wasn't time to get started on the special features.
N

EDIT: Looking at that picture you posted threw me for a loop. I'm assuming it's just a promotional pic, and not a scan of the DVD itself, so the French wouldn't be on it - my copy has the French translation underneath every sentence.

I didn't watch it yet. I'm going to the store now to buy chips and drinks. I'm sad, I know haha

And yeah I saw HMV sold it with Constantine. I got it in Future Shop. Came with a case made of metal or whatever that is. It's a neat box but I had no idea anything else came with it. All these different stores have some other "exclusive". Walmart has some extra dvd (I think Animatrix). Best Buy has the mask and 4 posters but since it's a bit too far for me to drive all the way to Best Buy I didn't bother. I don't need the posters and I'll never wear the mask (I can see Seven/Eleven suing Warner Bros because some V masked "Anarchy in the UK" idiot robbed them)

EDIT: Mine has the french too.

True if you don't have the comic. I have the comic since 1999 and I even bought the one that came out a few months ago. I know it's the same but my graphic novel from '99 is a bit ripped on the side and very old so I keep it in a case. The newer one is for reading and whatever else. hehe </dork>

For instance, Batman Begins special edition came with a comic as well, which was an amalgam of the comic's original stories and "creation of Batman" ideas, redone to fit the plot of the film - they only used stories that were in the movie, and even redrew some of them to fit.

I orderd these from amazon.co.uk on friday afternoon, and it prompted me to choose express delivery to get them the next day whihc would be saturday i was like, Ok its worth it.

They never turned up on saturday, so i emailed amazon saying i will have a refund on my postage, ok it was a bit direct but i paid for it to be there satuday so why should i still have to pay for the postage which was 7 quid, So they replied saying it was my fault i orderd to late. This fucked me off cause they were trying to pass the blame on to me, so i replied, no it wasnt my fault your website said i would get them tommrrow if i orderd them when i did so please refund me and resolve this. LOL

Today i got an email saying, because its a one off we will refund you 8.99 pounds, LOL RESULT, which in a way means my family guy only cost me a pound as that was only 9.99 lol.

Silent Hill

I just recieved a copy I bought from Ebay. And this Thursday it is finally released in cinemas here in Australia, I'm not sure exactly how they expect to make a whole lot of money releasing a film in cinemas a week after it's released internationally on dvd, but there you go.

That's pretty bizarre of them to do. Especially in the age of the internet where people are well aware of what's out and easily available in other countries.

But what I got:

I'm quite reluctant to buy DVDs as I would with CDs. I'm simply not interested in having a huge collection since I don't enjoy that many movies (or to the extent of which I would consider buying them) - not to mention I like a lot of independent/foreign films and those are hard to come by. I only own a small collection of twelve DVDs, fourteen if you include the two live performance DVDs. However, my To Buy list includes American Psycho, Cradle of Fear, Blossi 810551 and quite possibly a few more.

Never heard of it...and personally I would never buy something based on what I've heard from other people. A co-worker of mine buys DVDs without ever watching them, he seriously has hundreds of DVDs.

Yeah, you've got a point. It depends on what you're into I guess. I probably couldn't even imagine myself owning more than 50 DVDs. Amongst my collection, I've got Trainspotting, Shallow Grave, 28 Days Later, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Killing Zoe, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, The Ninth Gate, Summer of Sam, Tape, Lost Highway and a couple more.

Anyone see the movie called "Gangster No. 1"....? Its on TV tonight and I wanted to know if its any good? I looks like a good movie, something I'd watch.

i was in the mood for buying something different this week and bought the animated Marvel Comics' " Ultimate Avengers" 1 and 2. they were pretty cool, they are coming out with a "Doctor Strange" animated movie soon and "Iron Man" animated movie also.

i also bought Tool's "Parabola" video on DVD, it was used for $4.00, can't beat that really. I Love Alex Grey, Adam Jones directed the video and Alex Grey inserted a transformation sequence to the DVD.

i joined a dvd club and got "Saving Private Ryan" Special Limited Edition for $5.50, i like War movies.
