Stop fucking bringing back really lame fucking villians from entirely gay sagas and using them as an excuse to revive dead fucking people. (http://www.newsarama.com/marvelnew/Onslaught/OnslaugthReborn.htm)
Onslaught has to be the single gayest 'giant epic villian' of all time. Spoiler alert - Xavier and Magneto have mind sex and Xavier creates this giant beast with a huge boner that threatens the world. OMG!
Then these classic heroes 'give their lives' to kill it but, guess what - they're not dead! THEY COME BACK AND SO DOES ONSLAUGHT.

They did this to goddamn Age of Apocalypse too.
Actually, comics are pissing me off at the moment with all this OMGLIFECHANGINGMEGASUPEREVENTOFTHECENTURY!! shit.
Why do they feel the need to tie-in every single on-going comic to some shitty 'Avengers Disassembled' or 'House of M' shit, or more recently 'Civil War'? I don't mind if it's tied to one mini-series, but when they make you buy every single fucking issue under the sun just so you can get 'the full story', it just pisses me off.
And the worst of it is that none of this is going to affect the Marvel universe in any way at all, because it'll all be either forgotten or retconned in a year anyway.

Marvel's tried to take more risks, with shit like the Ultimate line, the MAX books, New X-Men and Avengers, which have worked to some degree and has put out some of the best storytelling since the 70s on Marvel's part. Judging from a superhero standpoint, Marvel will always have DC up, but I think DC is starting to gain on them, and in some respects, is surpassing them. I really don't count Watchmen or V for Vendetta (I <3 Alan Moore) in that realm because they were sort of stand alone graphic novels and really didn't introduce anything into regular continuity (though their influence still hovers both companies.)

DC rocks. Marvel is eh. But I love DC. Superman....Batman.....Wonder Woman.....Watchmen....which I guess is Vertigo (but Vertigo is part of DC, only DC is more family friendly and Vertigo more for mature readers)...I love Vertigo. Hellblazer, The Sandman, V for Vendetta. DC also had A History of Violence (though, it was DC's Paradox Press which published them). I'm not a big fan of Marvel but there are exceptions. I like a few of Marvel's as well.

Marvel pulled bullshit. First, look at everything that ever came out of Chuck Austen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Austen)'s tenure at Marvel.Nightcrawler is the son of the Devil and Angel fucks some chick mid-flight? Retarded crap that -somehow- passed the editor in chief?
Secondly, they don't let their heroes die. Hell, that's one of the things that Joe Quesada is on a crusade against (besides his personal anti-smoking crusade by phasing out the nicotine habits of both Wolverine and Frank Castle) because all-too-often the 'big event' crap that Marvel pulls get's yanked back in the end.
Onslaught: Rebirth is a great example of this. You have some of Marvel's "finest" supposedly giving their lives to stop this tremendous evil and guess what? Alternate dimension! They're back!
They pulled this shit with The Infinity Gauntlet and it was retarded. "Look, half the universe is dead!" becomes "Oh, guess what? It's back to normal in the last ten pages and makes everything you just read worthless."
House of M also stands as a prime, and recent, example of this crap. "Look, no more mutants!" somehow turns into "Ok... well, not really." No screw that. Chalk that up as another cop-out where readers were interested, hype was generated and boom, the pay-off was a burnt turd.
DC, on the other hand, kills their heroes and they stay that way. Look at Crisis on Infinite Earths. They went out of their way to completely eliminate (and, god bless them for this, create continuity) between the heroes and villians written by differing authors.
Marvel, on the other hand, would have just pulled them out of a fucking alternate dimension and called it canon just to sell a few comicbooks and do nothing at all 'for the art'.

DC is just as guilty of bringing back their heroes as Marvel, so do not even give me that bullshit. Granted, Marvel's past couple of EiC's have been total fuckwads, but you can't even play that card when we both know damn well both companies have been playing it for the past 20 years. Even characters from alternate Earths are still popping up when they're Earths had supposedly been destroyed. And don't even get me started on fucking Zero Hour.

Superman was killed by Doomsday.
Batman was crippled by Bane.
I'd say not much, considering it was a well-hyped event and a bunch of people probably did what you did and bought copies of the final "Death of Superman" issue.

DC has produced some real fucking GEMS, or should I say Vertigo (though DC did have Watchmen, Sandman, Dark Knight Returns) but DC owes it's ass to Marvel for teaching them how to write the superhero.
You wouldn't have Dark Knight Returns if Frank Miller hadn't done Daredevil. Besides, they're stand out stories are usually out of continuity, with the exception of maybe Swamp Thing.

No I just found it sad that my own opinion which I stand by was tried to be rushed down by a petty albeit "funny" sexist remark. As for me being personally offended, it takes much more than that - not being online for one. But if the only way you can reply to an opinion that doesn't match yours is to joke hysterically then by all means, do it. The only reason I said what I did is to state that with your "joke" and ";)" you've really not proven me much wrong in my opinion or statement. That's all. Now, let the subject continue :)

Dark Phoenix Saga-and basically Clarmont's entire run on the X-Men series during the 70s-Miller's run on Daredevil (feat.
