Who is the voice (think it's a woman) that sings along with MM in some live gigs ? (like The Dope Show in TLTOE)

Please share opinions and/or photos. :D

Opinion: I hate her, don't know why but I just hate her voice. She really ruins some songs as well, like Rock N Roll Nigger or Rock is Dead, they sound a lot better without her.

Actually I think she sounds amazing, especially on I don't Like the Drugs but the Drugs like me. That part where she's singing and Ginger is playing is absolutely spectacular!

I think that on Rock 'n' roll Nigger she's makin'it, but on IDLTD(BTDLM) the only good part is on Ginger's solo. Anyway, noone knows something about her ? :(

If it's on The Dope Show, she should be Bitch McGowan. I read about her dancing to the dope show in an old review of a manson MA concert

The first time I had that funky guitar riff I was amazed. I beg to differ, i like the song very much.

No actually he means exactly what he said, she pretends to fuck MANSON in his ass. And both black women come down to the front of the stage during User Freindly on some dates, just as the girls did for the GAOG tour. In one show, 11/21/98 Poughkeepsie, NY I think it was that MM pulls out the one black chicks tit and licks her nipple in front of everyone, pretty Hawt!

ok, those back up singer's we're madonna's back up singers. it was awsome for manson to have something like that added to the live show. "i dont like the drugs" is an awsome song as well. i wish they still played that song.

I've seen Nikki Harris spell her name both ways... I think on the album, that is Madonna's back-up singer but she wasn't on the tours.

I thought that was an awesome touch. They made "Rock n Roll Nigger" sound fucking wicked.

To clear up the misconception... she/they (on the RID Tour there was only one) would come down to share the stage with Manson and engage in a bit of some risque sex play during "User Friendly."

The shows of this era are near untoppable.

Manson's voice was awesome during this era, he could sing, he could scream, and he was truly a great rock n roll frontman, in every sense of the world.

Definitely... the energy of those shows was amazing, looking back. On the GGG Tour he seemed like he was trying too hard to impress... he loosened up again for the GB Tour, although still not as much energy as these tours. AAG was very uninspiring.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more similarity I see between MA and GAOG. For the headlining shows in the Fall for the Grotesk Burlesk, I thought he definitely exhibited the vitriol and passion that made him amazing 5 years prior to that. Those were damn good shows as well, nothing compared to the MA tours. There's just something about those shows, perfect balance between outstanding musicianship and a raw energy that made those two tours very memorable.

I'd say the latter GAOG shows came pretty close to rivalling the MA/RID Tours in energy, but I think it still lacked the musicianship, at least compared to those.

That's actually nothing compared to what went on during the typical performance of "User Friendly." MM wasn't afraid to touch the dancers in nether-regions nor were they to him. And the bigger black woman made a habit of "fucking" him in the ass whenever he'd bend over.

I say the opposite, while the Album Version IS the best one, I do believe she added a nice new flavor to the live version, same for IDLTD (which sounds Great live) , but she did a terrible job on RID (maybe that's becuase I don't enjoy the Live version).

Does anyone have the other songs that she sings on, because I want to hear the rest??

damn why can't they release a DVD of the MA era Tour...

It makes perfect sense (seeing as how Madge and MM are my idols), both Madge and MM re-invent themselves with each new project, both create personas, both are extremely Popular and well-known, both churn out countless "hits"and have well-thought out albums (and marketing strategies), and both of them have more money than all of us combined.

Manson doesn't "churnt out countless hits". Specially not when you compare him to Madonna. Manson had what? About 4 or 5 songs that could be considered hits. If that. And 2 or 3 of them are covers.
But I agree with the rest.

If you actually own the MA album, look in the credits and is states the female vocals (except for Rose on Posthuman) were done by the 'Black Gospal Choir' or some shite.

I rememer reading an interview years ago where MM said the girls would be new stage-members of the band and the reason he wanted Gospal Singers was to prove a point to the christians that even Manson, the fucking 'Anti-christ', could corrupt 'Soul-Sistas'.

Or some shite.

Pretty much all of his singles are hits.

Sweet Dreams, The Beautiful People, The Dope Show, Rock Is Dead, The Fight Song, Disposable Teens, This Is The New Shit, and maybe mOBSCENE I've all heard on the radio at some point or another, and I know people that don't listen to Manson that know all of them.

i love madge too...and she actually shared one of her backup signers on the MA album...i dunno if its the black chick that sung on tour but her name is Nikki something...she's one of madge's 2nd hand ladies when it comes to backup singers

Do you seriously consider "The Fight Song" and "This is the New Shit" to have been "hits?" They completely tanked. The rest you listed were hits, sure...but definitely NOT those two. That's the best part about the renaming of the latter in single form as "This is the New *Hit," namely, the irony of it all...since it SO wasn't a "hit" at all.

Niki Harris wasn't on the tour, IIRC.

And the last time she performed with Madonna was in the 2001 tour. She didn't work on Re-Invention and is out of the new tour too. Seems they don't get along anymore.

No. The only hits listed there are Sweet Dreams and The Beauitful People. I don't know anyone who isn't an avid listener who could name the rest.

Not necessarily. "The Dope Show" was commercially their most successful song, it did the best on the charts and stuff. Those three are the only well-known Manson songs, although the other MA singles caused a big splash too.

Here are some more and some reasons:

PoaAF is easily and usually completely forgotten....

AS era:
tBP it made a huge splash and is the "Definitive" Manson song.
T....I didn't even know it WAS a single

MA era is remembered by:
tDS will forever be remembered for the fact that he had tits in the video
IDLTD is usually forgotten
RiD is known because of the MAtrix
and CW is rarely mentioned.

The HW era is forgotten most of the time (I knew for a while I forgot about that era)
The only thing known near this era is his cover of TL.

tGAoG era is known [vaguely] because of "mOBSCENE"

the LWF era is alive and kicking mainly because people are know PJ (dumbasses think that it's a Manson original and I have to set them straight).

BUT>> I ask you WHO exactly can name singles by an artist if they aren't an "avid" listener of them or even remotely CARES about that person??

I only know of singles of an artist BECAUSE I'm an avid listener...

but a foil in my point:
I also some singles by other artists because I was either: disgusted or intrigued by the single/artist/video OR because it was beaten into my brain for being EVERYWHERE or they only have good singles....and their albums suck....or becasue I'd like to see what singles an artist has released.
but that's just me......

I definitely wouldn't say that "IDLTD" was forgotten... I was 11 at the time of its release and I remember everybody talking about it (the only pre-MA songs I remember that happening with were "Sweet Dreams" and "The Beautiful People"). The notorious TV cross made its mark too. I'm sure that if Manson had kept performing it and it had made LWF (which, because it WAS a big single, it should've been), it would've been up there with "Dope Show" and "Beautiful People" in terms of familiarity.

"Coma White" wasn't a single but it's still well-known because of its video, which is kept alive by those stupid countdown shows, whenever "controversial" is in the title.

And yes, I think "Personal Jesus" is one of "his" commonly-referenced songs too. Possibly even (I hate to say it) "Tainted Love."

I remember hearing so much more about tDS and flling in love with the video, then hearing RiD and watching the vidoe with the Matrix scenes and then watching CW video.

No where did I even remember IDLtD......

I don't like the Drugs was on heavy rotation on MTV2 for about six months. The video did very well, it was the single on the radio that went nowhere.

As far as Holywood singles, those still get the most airplay in my area with the exception of The Beautiful People.

The modern rock station in my town has a hard-on for Disposable Teens and The Fight Song. It's actually quite annoying.

Tainted Love doesn't get played here. At all.

I think it really depends on where you live. In the states none of his singles were really stupendous sellers. Yeah they got a lot of noteriety, but they weren't played too often. Sweet Dreams and the Beautiful People are the exception to that, but they still don't top their pop conterparts of that time.

BarryC

I still only think the true "hits" were The Beautiful People, Sweet Dreams are Made of this,

and POSSIBLY... The Dope Show, because I did look it up and research it, and it was very popular, even Weird Al parodied it in a song.

MM hits are Sweet Dreams, The Beautiful People, The Dope Show and Tainted Love.after this I think Rock is dead and Disposable Teens
