According to a post on The NIN Hotline, NINE INCH NAILS' upcoming album, "With Teeth", will receive a simultaneous regular/DualDisc release on May 3. The regular version will have a $13.98 list price. The DualDisc be a 18.98 list and will include the following extra features:

* Album in hi-res DVD-Audio surround sound
* Album in Dolby 5.1 surround sound

The LP (vinyl) version of the album is scheduled to come out a week earlier, on April 26.

According to a post on MTV.com, beginning on March 26 in Los Angeles, fans will be able to attend special NIN-sponsored listening parties in 13 metropolises across the U.S., where they will receive a "limited edition" gift. And if you preorder the album at one of the listening parties, you'll also get a seven-inch vinyl single featuring the first single, "The Hand That Feeds", and "Home", a nonalbum track. A full list of cities hosting the parties can be found on NIN.com.

In other news, Audiohead.net has posted a new article/interview with Trent Reznor regarding the recording of "With Teeth". Specific topics regarding the recording process of "With Teeth" are engaged. A sample quote from Reznor follows: "The idea of trying to work with tape is stupid to me, seems archaic and is not something I want to embrace. But I do think you can take the aesthetic of humanity and imperfection and spontenaity, and use it with computers. And that's — in kind of a rough, raw way — one of the things we've stumbled into with this record."

Sounds pretty sweet, DualDiscs are awsome.

I'm very happy to hear the album will be out on dualdisk format,I only have one dualdisk, which happens to be NiN's TDS, and it sounds excellant and i can't wait to buy the album (I won't be downloading any of the tracks before they are released, so i can experience the album like it should be.. and how everyone used to hear albums.... when they came out they bought them :)

Wish it was May 3rd already.. It seems sooo far away

Is it going to be at all possible to play the album in 5.1 on a PC?

If you have a soundcard capable of connecting to 5 speakers + subwoofer, and if you have 5 correctly positioned speakers + subwoofer - yes.

Yessum -- and quite interesting to know that NIN basically uses all the same software synthesis as I do.

Looks like it's dualdisc for me then. I was just afraid the 5.1 part was exclusive to the DVD-A side, which most PC's can't play. I think you have to have an Audigy 4 or something.

The dual disc is obviously worth it, what's five bucks? I usually count on anything between $15-18 per newly released disc anyhow, so I'm really not seeing an issue here...

I Totally agree the DVD-audio portion will not play at all, SACD sound much better as well.

I'm confused? You have a problem with SACD or DVD-audio? or the fact I agree with someone?

Anyhoo, anyone have release info on Manson SACD's? I'm guessing no, I always look here and no one seems to have a clue.

I have the regular version, couldn't find the Dual Disc. Is it true that you can't copy the regular portion of a Dual Disc onto a computer?

I was able to, but I use a Mac with itunes, so that doesn't really help you.
