Well, "Trismegistus" is easily the best of the newest pieces, it is absolutely fucking beautiful. And the fact that it is painted on canvas that is part of a 19th century embalming table makes this piece even more signifigant to the figure of Christ/Hermes. Coincidence, I think not. He is definitely using the watercolor in a more opaque way on this piece, building up the color, instead of using 'washes' which I think really works well for this piece. He is using the watercolor as if it's acrylic or oil, and that's very interesting. The next best are those two beautiful Jon Benet pieces, and his self portrait.
The Hitler piece, Vampyr is much better than the other Hitler piece, but I think his work is much more effective when he doesn't use such bold outlines. He seems to definitely be filling the page with more color and not using so much white space, which I feel is a good thing.
Damn, I wish I could sell my work for $30,000 :(
Or even a quarter of that would be nice...
EDIT: Another interesting thing I noticed with Vampyr is the fact that the figure's hair is very much like MM's current haircut. Is there a connection here, I'm not sure, but I thought I would bring it to the table.

Wow, I really like his new work. I always liked the old stuff, but whether it's more detailed like the Jesus one, or more "cartoony" like these two (which I probably prefer more) it's definitely a big step up.

i thought that, perhaps if these are new works, and not old ones from GAOG era then maybe a clue into the direction of all his new art (Albums, Painting, ect..)

I think Hitler is used too much... he made his point..
those two pics were shown at the mini-artshows in france and germany. when i saw photos and the title of the one called 'Hitler Takes a Nap' i just laughed. i think they are meant to be jokey.
his painting technique is growing all the time so i don't think those two pics are stretching his ability in any way now. Trismegistus is the proof of how far his skills have developed, of how much he can acheive when he cares to 'max out'.

If he took those damned black lines out of the two Hitler pieces, they'd be pretty decent, not his best, but definitely good. But those lines make the work seem amateur at best, so as pointed out already, the lines make the piece crap. However, "Trismegistus" is a phenomenal painting. At least Manson's painting is still inviting, good to see.

What the hell are you talking about? They look nothing like Manson's watercolor paintings. Yes, they are watercolor, so they have a similar aesthetic, but you make absolutely no sense what so ever.

I'd have to agree. It would be the equivalent of two people both using a computer to type up their books, and then someone proclaiming them to be the same, despite the fact that the artists end up with two entirely seperate products.

Most of Mansons paintings are full of his emotion, they are made with passion unlike the Hitler ones. Criuci.. You have written an interesting comment. I on the other hand can get SO much emotion out of them. I just really would like to know WHEN they were created. I feel they have Manson's movement to the next level talking in them. There is a painting called 'Flight into Egypt' by Giotto di Bodone that portrays an angel in the same manner as Vampyer. It is a painting heeding a warning of death to the son of God.. He narrowly escapes, being warned..and goes into Egypt to safety, thus escaping the death threat to 'all boys shall be killed'.The painting is very meaningful if that is taken into consideration. It copies the basic body, but Manson has added much more IMO personal 'emotion' in his version. I look towards the bottom at the people, at first I felt they were us the fans 'grabbing'.. but the more I look at it, it reminds me of coma white and coma black [or in keeping with the bible story.. the soldiers that were thwarted in thier search for the 'babe'].I am still unsure. The gun.. the bleeding from the 'angel' only.. the shots to the temple[or the mark] reminds me of his line, 'each part of me I give you is a piece of my death'???I may not have the exact line there???.. I vaguely remember it.. but the message is the same.
Opps looks like I went on a rant. SORRY people. At least I gave you a little thought to ponder... besides the only theory that his newly released work is unmeaningful. They do however look like they were done in a haste, I agree... [or early on in his painting career]. I like them both nonetheless. The message of Hitler is a strong 'heil' message to us all.
edit; it is somewhat peaceful that warnings are taken as they come...as long as it was recieved, is all that matters here. dada was warned about going down into the mines...but it was not from the source he belives.Proxy my friend.. proxy.

Indeed. I'm sure there'd be a huge market for 'cheap prints' - better quality than a mere poster but nothing fancy like signed or limited in number; just 'decent quality' and with a price tag of $50 maximum.
