So there's this great kid's toy made by IntelPlay, called a Sound Morpher, which I've been using to bootleg concerts since about 2000. It records 4 minute .wav files straight outta the air. It's usually about 50 bucks at nicer toy stores, but if you look around you can find 'em in the 10 dollar range. They're great, 'cause they look like a cross between a cell phone and a high-tech pacifier...it's really easy to get away with bringin' into a show. And if you get a cheap one it's no big deal if you get caught...just let 'em keep it and that's that. No getting kicked out. Here's what the little bastard looks like:

Anyway, for a long time I was takin' one (or two sometimes) to almost every concert I went to. So here's some free, exclusive, 4 minute bootlegs! Lemme know whatcha think...I know it's not exactly the best, but FUCK...better than nothin', eh? :)
The sound quality varies so much, btw, mainly because some shows were recorded in giant, outdoors venues, and some in smaller clubs. They're all fairly decent for what they are though, imho. I mean, it's a fuckin' TOY, for christ's sake.
"The Nobodies" -- live in St. Louis, 2001 (Ozzfest) "And the crowd went WILD!!!" ;) (http://www.alicecooperhub.co.uk/haz/MMTheNobodies.mp3)
"The Fight Song Intro Speech, Snippet" -- live in Chicago, 2001 (Ozzfest) Botched recording. :-( (http://www.alicecooperhub.co.uk/haz/MMGoingToHell.mp3)
"A Perfect Circle Intro Performance (title?)" -- live in 2001 (http://www.alicecooperhub.co.uk/haz/A%20Perfect%20Circle-Intro.mp3)
"Psychopharmacology" -- by Firewater, live in 2002 (http://www.alicecooperhub.co.uk/haz/Firewater-Psychopharmacology.mp3)
"Spoken Word Rant -- American Insecurity" -- by Lydia Lunch, live in 2002 (http://www.alicecooperhub.co.uk/haz/LydiaLunch%202.mp3)
"The Nobodies" is kinda crunchy-sounding, but I love that crowd participation, and no one else bootlegged the show at all, so far as I know.
"The Fight Song Intro Speech, Snippet" was a random bit I happened to catch, I'll put the full song up later (even though it's an uber-shitty recording).
The "APC Intro Song" is funny, 'cause I was SUPER-fucked-up and actually blacked-out and dropped like a sack of hammers when the lights went out, got revived, got water, and got STRAIGHT BACK INTO THE PIT, MO-FOs, not even 5 minutes later, and for the whole show. \m/ But, consequently, you can hear my buddy trying to talk me out of it, shouting "goddamn," as the crowd crushed harder and harder towards the front, and me shouting "keep going, don't stop, don't stop!!" 'cause he couldn't take it, the pussy. Heh. ;) We were front and center the whole time after that. RAWK!
"Psychopharmacology" is by one of my favorite bands, Firewater, an offshoot of Cop Shoot Cop and The Jesus Lizard. Cut short by the Sound Morpher's time limitations, unfortunately. :-(
The Lydia Lunch rant was from her spoken word tour in '01, and if you don't know who she is, you gotta do your homework. Manson digs her too, btw. This one's priceless, 'cause she makes a great improv tangent out of an interruption shouted out by some asshole in the audience who happened to be just a couple of feet away from me, so you can hear him too. :)
Him: "Don't you feel safe?" Ms. Lunch: "Fuck. NO." Heh...
There's a bunch more comin', and what I'll probably post tomorrow is MUCH, MUCH better in terms of sound quality, and they're all groups you'll probably like hearing more than these.
Bands/songs I'll post more by in the next couple of days include:
Pigface doing "Suck."
Slick Idiot "covering" "Drug Against War."
Foetus doing "Son of Slam."
Rasputina doing "Rock and Roll."
ohGr doing "Devils"
Manson doing "The Fight Song"
More Lydia Lunch spoken word goodness.
And whatever else I can dig up from my SoundMorphedTracks song file.
P.S. Big thanks to timnicebutdim for hosting these...that guy's a fuckin' a-list CHAMP. :)
