So there's this great kid's toy made by IntelPlay, called a Sound Morpher, which I've been using to bootleg concerts since about 2000. It records 4 minute .wav files straight outta the air. It's usually about 50 bucks at nicer toy stores, but if you look around you can find 'em in the 10 dollar range. They're great, 'cause they look like a cross between a cell phone and a high-tech pacifier...it's really easy to get away with bringin' into a show. And if you get a cheap one it's no big deal if you get caught...just let 'em keep it and that's that. No getting kicked out. Here's what the little bastard looks like:

http://www.intel.com/technology/itj/q42001/images/art_5_fig_4.jpg

Anyway, for a long time I was takin' one (or two sometimes) to almost every concert I went to. So here's some free, exclusive, 4 minute bootlegs! Lemme know whatcha think...I know it's not exactly the best, but FUCK...better than nothin', eh? :)

The sound quality varies so much, btw, mainly because some shows were recorded in giant, outdoors venues, and some in smaller clubs. They're all fairly decent for what they are though, imho. I mean, it's a fuckin' TOY, for christ's sake.

"The Nobodies" -- live in St. Louis, 2001 (Ozzfest) "And the crowd went WILD!!!" ;) (http://www.alicecooperhub.co.uk/haz/MMTheNobodies.mp3)

"The Fight Song Intro Speech, Snippet" -- live in Chicago, 2001 (Ozzfest) Botched recording. :-( (http://www.alicecooperhub.co.uk/haz/MMGoingToHell.mp3)

"A Perfect Circle Intro Performance (title?)" -- live in 2001 (http://www.alicecooperhub.co.uk/haz/A%20Perfect%20Circle-Intro.mp3)

"Psychopharmacology" -- by Firewater, live in 2002 (http://www.alicecooperhub.co.uk/haz/Firewater-Psychopharmacology.mp3)

"Spoken Word Rant -- American Insecurity" -- by Lydia Lunch, live in 2002 (http://www.alicecooperhub.co.uk/haz/LydiaLunch%202.mp3)

"The Nobodies" is kinda crunchy-sounding, but I love that crowd participation, and no one else bootlegged the show at all, so far as I know.

"The Fight Song Intro Speech, Snippet" was a random bit I happened to catch, I'll put the full song up later (even though it's an uber-shitty recording).

The "APC Intro Song" is funny, 'cause I was SUPER-fucked-up and actually blacked-out and dropped like a sack of hammers when the lights went out, got revived, got water, and got STRAIGHT BACK INTO THE PIT, MO-FOs, not even 5 minutes later, and for the whole show. \m/ But, consequently, you can hear my buddy trying to talk me out of it, shouting "goddamn," as the crowd crushed harder and harder towards the front, and me shouting "keep going, don't stop, don't stop!!" 'cause he couldn't take it, the pussy. Heh. ;) We were front and center the whole time after that. RAWK!

"Psychopharmacology" is by one of my favorite bands, Firewater, an offshoot of Cop Shoot Cop and The Jesus Lizard. Cut short by the Sound Morpher's time limitations, unfortunately. :-(

The Lydia Lunch rant was from her spoken word tour in '01, and if you don't know who she is, you gotta do your homework. Manson digs her too, btw. This one's priceless, 'cause she makes a great improv tangent out of an interruption shouted out by some asshole in the audience who happened to be just a couple of feet away from me, so you can hear him too. :)
Him: "Don't you feel safe?" Ms. Lunch: "Fuck. NO." Heh...

There's a bunch more comin', and what I'll probably post tomorrow is MUCH, MUCH better in terms of sound quality, and they're all groups you'll probably like hearing more than these.

Bands/songs I'll post more by in the next couple of days include:

Pigface doing "Suck."

Slick Idiot "covering" "Drug Against War."

Foetus doing "Son of Slam."

Rasputina doing "Rock and Roll."

ohGr doing "Devils"

Manson doing "The Fight Song"

More Lydia Lunch spoken word goodness.

And whatever else I can dig up from my SoundMorphedTracks song file.

P.S. Big thanks to timnicebutdim for hosting these...that guy's a fuckin' a-list CHAMP. :)

Hudson, this is awesome!

By the way, I have my photobucket account going and I'm uploading all of those pics as I type this. They WILL be up by friday night!

edit... Damn, it sounds like that whole audience is singing the chorus in The Nobodies!

timnicebutdim - You ROCK!

Hey, no problemo, Donnie...glad you dig 'em. The kinda-relatively-shite sound quality can be off-putting for some, but I love 'em all. Even the REALLY shitty ones.

But, really, the next batch is gonna blow these away. I actually screwed up and didn't send off the better ones to be hosted when I thought I had...so these are all I have hosted right now, and they were really meant as extras, not the main features. I just couldn't wait. :)

While we're at it...here's some more stuff in the meantime.

Here's another one from the same Chicago Ozzfest show that I meant to put in the first post. "...the drugs, they say, are made in Chi-cago, we love your face, I'd really like to cum on it, the pigs and fags make good-looking models, I hate today, who'll I wake up with tomorrow?" I just HAD to get that snippet. ;)
"The Dope Show, Snippet" -- live in Chicago, 2001 (Ozzfest) (http://www.alicecooperhub.co.uk/haz/MMTheDopeShow.mp3)

I should mention here that although the minidisc recording from LA far surpasses the Sound Morpher crap, it still sounds like shit here, due to the ad-hoc manner in which I've had to jerry-rig a MD-to-computer hook-up, since Sony sucks so fuckin' bad.

P.S. Glad to hear about the pix...I'm on goddamned tenterhooks here! :)

Sorry 'bout that. The clip of "Rock is Dead" with the streamers-shooting sound and the clip of my old answering machine message were taken down to clear web-hosting space for more desirable clips to be posted later.

They were kind of hosted by accicent anyway...didn't mean to tease anyone, sorry. I'll put a full version of the "Rock is Dead" clip at a later date, and what wonders will replace the version which is missing kick ass ten times harder than that snippet did anyway.

P.S. red, dawn, FIGHTMF: Thank YOU...I hate seeing that 10,000 people checked out something I put up and didn't have the decency to comment on it, so I appreciate your kind words. Hope you like the next few song-bootlegs I post in here too...I think you will. :) Glad you enjoyed these as well...I hate to see people get their panties in a twist over boots not being shared in lossless formats and all that high-fallutin' crap. Wish more people would just say "fuck it" and share with the fans. Otherwise it's us who really end up suffering a "loss," at least as I see it (damnit). :)

a show is a show, regardless of the format, most people want lossless to trade, so that's what i trade, i can honestly say that i have every nin show that's ever been released in mp3, which is a ton, it's taking up over 20 gigabytes on one of my drives, so i am not picky. it's very nice of you to share these clips with us, i do appreciate it.

I just like to be grateful for when people go out of there way to do nice things for other people, you diddnt have to post them and timnice diddn't have to host them but you took some time etc. to do it for people and will probably get complaining, bitching whiners along with it, so its much appreciated.

Thanks to everyone who said thanks ^_^... how could I NOT host good shit like this?

More to come up... (pictures, sound clips etc.). I like the idea of making a little page of good shit.

EDIT : Talking of sharing, Haz has inspired me to upload random bits of Manson shinanigans too... But then, I can't claim to have recorded these myself... Little mOBSCENE speech I found quite funny at the Philly 04 show (http://www.alicecooperhub.co.uk/haz/mspeech.mp3).

Hey, glad you cats all dug 'em so, that's great to hear!!

If anyone knows any good places on-line to host shit for free...or if anyone wouldn't mind hostin' about 8-or-so MP3s, then the next batch of SoundMorpher recordings is ready to go. And this next wave is the real choice stuff, btw. :)

And I've been wantin' to post some select snippets from my numerous minidisc bootlegs too, which are vastly better sounding recordings, obviously...it's just a matter of findin' the webspace at this point.

Thanks again!

Man, you ROCK!! After I'd been in internet-limbo for so long I'd just assumed these were down anyway.

Given the fact that the moderators in their infinite wisdom have deleted several important threads of mine over the past year or so, I was actually surprised when I found this thread to still be around.

Anyway, thanks for helpin' out yet again, timnicbutdim!!

P.S. Miss chattin' with you, man. :)
