It's just not a song that I see discussed alot in comparison to the other songs on the album. Almost every album has a little gem on it that gets over looked.

Your right!!Even if Little Horn is the shortest song on the album, it has given ACSS the glue it needs!!The album would be nothing without it!!

Of course it does!!But the only song I have a problem with is Cryptorchid, it too is glue that sticks it together *in its own special way* but it just doesn't perk my ears up *as the saying goes* it actually bores me!!I usually skip it when I'm really, really bored.

Asking me to pick a favourite Manson song is like asking me to pick which of my limbs I like best!

The Beautiful People has the most sentimental value, and I think it's one of M.Mansons' most accomplished songs, one of the most original, aggressive and simply iconic. Not to diminish the others of course, they're all rather different, but TBP has an attention to detail and lyrical sophistication that I feel sets it apart.

yea i voted for deformography. i think that deformography is the little gem that gets overlooked more so than little horn. its definately the most underrated song. i think that the ending half of cryptorchid all the way through deformography is definately the best part of the whole album....really trippy too

haha the beautiful people is the only song on the album that i skip every time...well except wormboy. its not really that original either compared to the rest of the album.

Each to their own I suppose. To me, though, that's like not liking sex O_o I cant imagine why so many of you are determined not to like 'the Beatiful People', it's a bit baffling for me! There are other songs whos lyrics look primitive, riffs sound tame, and sound frankly bland compared to it... is it because it's so popular?

well in that case, i completely agree! i think that song is probly #2 on my list next to deformography...the lyrics are great and i like the how both the songs start with those fucked up electronic beats for the verses.

You didn't put "Untitled" in...

And no, I'm not just being picky, I listen to that! It sounds oddly good, like 'intro' and 'obsequey'. And, I suppose, it gives the album a cyclical quality, since it directly leads up to 'Irresponsible Hate Anthem'. The lyrics are rather interesting too.

Mr. Superstar people, it's the best song on the album followed by deformography.

Antichrist Superstar here of course...I think it's powerful..it probably is because the performances in the old days..

The only song I use to skip on this album is Wormboy.

1996 for me. First time I heard the album I thought that the album had reached its peak of intensity with Touriquet and IHA but then this beast unleashed and raped my ears. Excellent song.

Kinderfeld.

that song is so unbeleivaly dark and creepy. its amazing. closely followed by IHA, TRG, minute and man

Guh
01-08-2006, 06:41 PM
I chose "Kinderfeld", mostly because it sounds just as twisted and sleazy as "Nick The Stripper" by The Birthday Party does. Followed by: "Wormboy", "Cryptorchid"

Smells Like Children - Sweet Dreams
POAAF - Sweet Tooth
Antichrist Superstar - Man That You Fear
Machanical Animals - Coma White
Holywood - God eat god, The Fight Song, Lamb of God and Coma Black.
GAOG - Golden Age of Grotesque, (s) aint and Spade
Least We Forget - Personal Jesus, Tainted Love, and Long Hard Road Out of Hell

I know this has been in the NIN thread but, why not in the Marilyn Manson thread?

I don't know if I have a favorite track. Man That You Fear is good for its simplistic beauty and vulnerability, but could be audibly better.

I choose Cryptorchid, because it sounds chaotic and dangerous and ugly at first, but then it's like this moment of silence and clarity, where the egg's been fertilized, and it just stops. And there's the first beat of a heart, and it's like this new life that is damned to act outs its destiny, and it's very beautiful. It's kind of like Marilyn and Manson in that regard, because it shows the same picture, but from two sides, and it's so pretty. I think it really shows the human side that is ignored. Sort of a less literal way to talk about the boy that you loved becoming the man that you fear.

anthony
01-11-2006, 04:05 PM
yea cryptorchid is one hell of a song....the mellatron in the ending half along with the voice effect is sooo effective. and the end of that song into the beginning of deformography is also very effective and erie.
