I think I first heard Manson when I was 14 or so, I saw my first Manson show when I was 15, and I found the road I was to walk, if you know what I mean.

I'll be 26 in Febuary.

I have nothing but good memories in connection whith Manson. Hudson being the very best of them:)

Anyway, I have more than one.
Wrapped in Plastic

Mr. Superstar
Angel With the Scabbed Wings
Coma White
Last Day On Earth - from the Dead to the World live album
Born Again
Slutgarden

As for his remakes, Golden Years and I Put a Spell on You.

really tough: i cant say 1 hav to be favourite from certain catagories

Power Anthem
Anitchrist Svperstar for its sheer power. it really musically unleashes the apocolyse and makes you feel so powerful at the same time.

most dancey rythem:
dope hat followed in close 2nd by beautiful ppl
dope hats wins due to the more intense musical trip and imagery it conjures up in my head.

most soulful song
sweet dreams - the first time i heard this live (i felt like i was in a trance 4 the whole set no drugs involved) i uncontrollably not of my own will fell to my knees and started crying my eyes out in the middle of roughly 5000 ppl on glasgow green. id heard it many a time on cd. but it pierced straight to my soul live.

Antichrist Superstar:

Holy Wood:

Golden Age:

non album songs:
Dead God

Suicide is Painless
Tainted Love

i love every Manson song I have heard, except alot of the shit on smells like children, but to be honest, beautiful people is my least tolerable song these days. I really think I heard it waaaay too much.

Another thing, sweet dreams on Smells like Children sux. its not Manson's best. It is such a great son on The Last Tour on Earth. also on Dead to the World and Guns God and Government tour dvds it sounds amazing, but i never cared for the version on Smells Like Children. I am one for classics though. I really love Disposable Teens. It's what made me a Manson fan in the first place. Fight Song is great too.

MM stand-outs are IMO, Get Your Gunn, Angel With Scabbed Wings, Man That Your Fear, Beautiful People, User Friendly, Dope Show, Coma White, Speed of Pain, New Shit and (s)AINT.

But the song which I think is MM's ultimate best is The Reflecting God. That's go to be one of the best songs ever, let alone the best Marilyn Manson song.

I would have to say "Reflecting God" is my absolute favorite. It is filled with so much raw energy. The whispered bridge towards the end of the song throws off the balance of the music, tipping you against the pattern of chaos, then shoving you back down into the canyon of insanity. It's his hardest song, in my opinion, next to "Burning Flag." It gives me chills every time I hear it.

Oh, and as a sidenote, some kid killed himself while listening to this song, and the media tried to blame Manson. He is quoted as saying something along the lines of, "Good. There's one less stupid person in the world." Fucking genius.

I have to agree. I like it, but as with most of GAOG, I brainwashed myself to like it. The repetition was very signature of Nazi Germany, which I think Manson wanted to reproduce and to also show how the media is crammed down our throats. The line in "This is the New Shit" that says "Do we get it? No! Do we want it? Yeah!" was pretty much, to me, a slap in the face of his fans on a personal level. We wanted the new music to be original and different but still Mansonesque, but I felt the album was a bit too contrived and lacked substance. The bones were there, but I feel the flesh just kept rotting away a little bit at a time as albums go by. It breaks my spade.

Just one, huh?

That's tough. I'd probably say the live version of "Great Big White World" from "Last Tour On Earth". Manson's vocals are way more rough on that recording than on the regular album version, and it sounds way more emotional. That song itself has always cut me like a knife. The part in the first verse where it fades out and all you hear is Pogo's piano is chilling.
