Well Manson was saying this video was very auto-biographical. I don't think it was just based on coked up sex, because if it was Manson would of never got engaged to her.

But waht does Asia turning into Tim signify

ryan3780
09-28-2004, 10:23 PM
the only thing thats missing is a bitch like you, why does asia turn into tim? and even then he continues to beat off, and what does the milk symbolize, it is white, and the "snow white" smile, why all of the "white" references? I think that this song is a big reference to cocaine

ryan3780

I personally thought that manson had quit doing cocaine, he talked so much shit about it making him restless. This song seems like he is singing about his addiction to coke. Maybe he doesnt really need it physically, but creatively. Because he supposedly doesnt have an "addictive personality" .You can't just write 3 CDs all coked up and then try writing another CD on a different drug as a substitute and expect it to be just as good.

But I can sorta see your interpretation!

TimothySkold6
09-29-2004, 01:48 AM
Could possibly mean that cocaine helped fuck up his relationship with Rose. I mean the references to Rose are uncanny. The whole snow white smile thing and "you infected me to diamonds I took all your shit" Well when they met Manson started going glam and there were rumors that Rose had a very bad temper and took it out on Manson.

it's "took diamonds", not "to diamonds", but I also hear "to diamonds" when I listen to that song.

Hey! "Snow White", guess what track number it is? 7! as in 7 dwarfs!

I wouldn't have known it was "took" if I didn't read the lyrics. I didn't read them at first, but then (obviously) I did.

I never would of know unless you said something, I then looked at the lyrics sheet and was shown the right way. It sounds like "to diamonds", I'll listen to it a lot tonight though to figure out.

I really wanna interpret this video and song, but I think I'm gonna wait a while before I do so I have more information about it.

Well, if you could screw your drug-infested head back into place maybe you'd realize that white symbolizes innocence and purity...... the most evident of symbology!

I must admit, I grow tired of the legions of fans that think just about everything of Manson's are a metaphor for drugs. In case you haven't realized, even drug related words don't relate to drugs. Start thinking outside the box, and realize that Manson has the ability to write lyrics about things completley unrelated to drugs. Sheesh.

Personally I think the song attempts to highlight the irony of the state of his previous demons. Quite beautiful actually. I also believe the cocaine in the video is an illustration of that irony- not the main point. Geez people, stop exhausting the drug theme- Manson is above that sort of nonsense in his lyrics!

Rock - is deader than dead
Shock - is all in your head.

i'd like to have given a considered and thoughtful response to the original poster but i didn't understand the question.

so i just babbled instead.

Is the song "(s)AINT" about Rose McGowan? Everyone will certainly make that assumption.

MM: [Laughs] Some people will definitely assume that, yes. I think there are pieces and shards of a lot of relationships in that song. It's really more about me. I will no longer define myself by other people's views of perfection. There have been a lot of people in my life; she doesn't deserve all the credit. And that song isn't exclusively about women, either. It's also about men I've come into contact with.

You wanted [me to be your kind of] perfekt
You['ve] got your [own definition of] perfekt
But now I'm too perfekt [by MY definition] for someone like you
I was a dandy in your ghetto with
A snow white smile and you'll
Never be as perfekt [by my definition] whatever you do *

Manson could've spelled her form as "perfect" and his form as "perfekt," but maybe that'd be too obvious.

I just watched s(Aint) again, this time counting the number of times a scene of pleasure or pain was shown.
I came up with 25 pleasure scenes and 12 pain scenes (were pleasure or pain is being invoked), so that's roughly twice as much pleasure as pain going on. I don't know what this means or why I'm doing this.

One thing that sticks out about that vid is the look of pleasure on Tim's face as Manson is beating off.

Good thread! Anyone know where this quote/interview came from?

what does Manson mean, "I'm a Dandy in a ghetto with a Snow White smile?" any thoughts?

Well here's part of wiki's definition of dandy: "Some dandies, especially in Britain in the late 18th and 19th century, often strove to affect aristocratic values *even though many came from common backgrounds*—thus a dandy could be considered a kind of snob."

It's a start anyway. Btw, aren't the lyrics "I *was* a Dandy in *your* ghetto?

You ('U') complete the word 'fuck', which collectively would mean that you (the person be referred to) is only being used to fuck, and that Marilyn's (or the person telling this story) life has become dirt and this is the only thing they can rely on.

Oh, and 'Dandy'- think Arch Dandy.

Not only that Snow White was released in 1937. That's the time when the Disney train took off. Thus the connection is understandable, plus Manson has always been one for twisting children's stories. That is assuming he isn't alluding to drugs.

I always got the impression with GAOG that the individual songs weren't about one specific thing, but rather the whole album had a theme, they were all basically saying the same thing, but with slight variation.

(s)Ain't is the obligatory bitter sex/love/betrayal song. I'm not sure it relates to anyone specific. Except of course Manson.

Maybe the song itself isn't about Rose, but the video has many references to her. While Manson is... well, pleasuring himself in the video, we can clearly see his portrait of her in the back of the Woman/Man in white.

a side note here, goag is based on the early 1900s to 1930s german art scene. at the time cocaine was seen as a mirical drug and was taken by EVERYONE, drugs were everywhere, its rumored that hitler came up with the final solution while recovering from a gas attack shortly after WWI under the influence of peyote. so during the 20s and 30s id say that cocain was even more popular then it was in the 1980s. just a bit of backstory on the use of cocain in the interwar era.
